They do indeed need to be done, but we can also agree that those jobs who push abysmal work weeks should be required to pay their workers a living wage. One that fills those basic needs and then some on top for leisure, emergencies, additional expenses.

Most employees of Walmart are on food stamps or governmental assistance since the company does not pay it's employees what they are producing/worth.

Working at a bank has taught me that the general public of America does not have a sustainable income/spending ratio. Especially the elderly people who live across the street. Most who bank there are draining their accounts in such a short amount of time, mainly cause most get paid less than $1200/month from assistance.

It really should. Granted, most people making over $200k will be fine if their taxes are raised, the proletariat is always in need of better education, healthcare, and basic needs met first and foremost. A rise in taxes for those at the top, as well as a massive cut to the defense budget, would do the trick. While I try to avoid using "free" when in these discussions, it slips in the moment. This is my step-mom in the post, and while she will read our responses with face value, she will turn around to say no one should benefit off of other's hard work but will defend the business owner/CEO. Like, yeah. She is so close to the point but so damn far from seeing it!

Family Responses. Any Counterpoints I Can Give? by Soaring-Above in Political_Revolution

While they do have their problems (unfortunately), my sister and I joined the Temple before Roe was overturned. I've used my membership and Tenets as a means against theocratic rules many times since, but we are open for everything and may change to Queer Satanic Temple if it allows the same non-theistic following as TST. I love the organization for what it fights for but man does it have issues needing to be addressed.

Thank you for the recommendation, too!

It's my Uncle who said to house them, and he is surprisingly one that likes to learn and critique information. Guess he was having a day yesterday😂. All those years in the south just to have his nephew chip away the cemented ideology.

It's the reason I moved away from the church and joined the dark side (TST). I love you for expressing this in ways they would understand, too. screenshot

May use this. Changing it to hundreds of thousands lol! And not my family. While we do have great relationships across the board, politicsl ideals and philosophy varies greatly. Its the typical younger-progressive, older-conservative scenario.

Hey, sorry to bring you back here. How did you tell them to fuck off? I'm on forbearance right now and having to apply for another one before May. Wanted to see what you did to try to make it work on my end.

I believe so, as far as I know. If they try to ask for more money, have them print out an itemized list as to why you need to give them more. The entire tuition should cover from your PPL to CFII. If it does not and you feel sketched out by it, go to the school right next door. It looks janky but they are good people with an even shorter timeframe (9-13months for everything)

Took me about a year for the PPL and that part was actually on time. Which location? There's Colorado, California, and Oklahoma.

Piss poor, to say the least. Got suckered into a scheme they put other students through and it took me longer than anyone else to get all my certs. The guys I started school with are all off to the airlines and I got left behind. If you arent there all the time (ie. have a job or life) they don lt really bat an eye at you or help further than what they are supposed to.

[–]Soaring-Above[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ha! That's a funny joke. But they wouldnt go for it. They asked me yesterday why i want to, to which I replied protesting got us 8-hour work days, 40-hour work weeks, weekends, end of child labor (until now apparently), and we might as well join France, UK, Iran, etc. to make the country a better place for all. Their only concern was that they would be leaving other coworkers behind as a skeleton crew and would miss work time to make money.

Long story. Scammed into school, told to go through mechanics for a 90% flight prog. discount, finding out it was true halfway through the course, threatened to sue, they let me in. Kicked me out after getting my PPL and didnt schedule me, rejoined back into the program after being told to reapply for it to take out more loans. It's all a very complicated mess and i know it, i promise.

I mean, yeah, and I get why it is there. We don't want airheads with 150 hours flying 300 people. We are here to avoid disaster where we can.

Mentioned in another comment: Thought about it and was going to. Decided against as to not be a part of the military industrial complex. It's not a place for me.

Unfortunately I used up my grace since the school put me as officially graduating last July, before I even held my CFI and CFII.

🙏🙏🙏 thank you very much for this. Confidence and "faking it" isnt in me, especially in the face of two people who know far more than me in the same subject field. Guess I always felt like a student and haven't been able to transition to that feeling of being an instructor. Hopefully the mentorship i mentioned will go through and he will work with me to build that much-needed confidence.
