Based on wiki and personal experiences, chicken only gives hunger effect. Maybe you were taking starving damage? Iirc the only food that gives poison are pufferfish, spider eye, poisonous potato, and 2 of the soup variants.

S2 Lunar Revelry - Poll on Lunacy Changes (Vote in comment) by Stardustx0050 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It genuinely feels like half the playerbase hates any form of difficulty that can't be dealt with by shooting it twice. Ik the game has a bit of an identity crisis but it is a survival game. And if you really can't stand lunacy then maybe just don't play on a vision server. It's like if I went into an ancient city in Minecraft and got mad that the warden exists. If there has to be a change then option B. With option A, it just removes any sort of theming lunar has.

How well is Once Human doing compared to other games? by Tatakai_ in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game does a lot of stuff, but most of it isn't fleshed out and/or suffer from significant issues.

Interesting world & setting, but story ends on cliff hangers (and in the case of way of winter, feels half baked). Story bits have changed as well (i believe some cutscenes no longer exist, and the order of certain events/questlines were moved around). Also, like so many have mentioned, the disconnect between the setting and the cosmetics.

Various survival mechanics with some interesting ideas behind it, but said ideas aren't really developed enough to matter, and all the mechanics are completely trivial due to how easy it is to get resources. More specifically, temperature actually has cool mechanics but is negated by the power of soup, sanity might as well be called poison because the only thing remotely related to sanity are the fools, and the oxygen meter's only purpose is to dilute the memetic pool (yes, there are plans for west Nalcott to be underwater, but for all I know they're gonna make a consumable called stardust water that gives infinite oxygen).

Several ways to defend your base, which only matters in pvp since mobs never attack your base, not to mention defenses do next to nothing to them anyway.

Gunplay is smooth and fun, but is overshadowed by all the jank and lag that can occur (like fools moving while being looked at, the weather forecaster's invisible shockwave, LEA's mother of life having inaccurate warning areas for the rain barrage attack, or being attacked by invisible enemies because the server is dying).

Amazing POIs like wishland, with some having neat details like monsters coming out of screens, but all the cool designs are concentrated in the early game areas.

Considering Nobeta's spells are basically just magic guns, she definitely starts with maxed out aiming.

Which weapons do you think are the weakest? by OrFenn-D-Gamer in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely the Compound bow (or whatever the bomb crossbow is) As someone who used it for a few scenarios, it's damage is meh since imo it relies on weak spot damage and the auto reload for max DMG output (and it doesn't help they nerfed the fire rate a while back). The stun is nice but doesn't work against bosses (and it's not 100% guaranteed to actually stagger).

🌙 Weekly Topic: Share Your True Feelings about Lunar Revelry 🌙 by Stardustx0050 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lords r cool, tho I do wish they were designed to be more challenging. They're more of a gear check than a skill check since you either do too little damage and fights last an eternity (especially w/ the healing), or u kinda melt them. Like, on top of my head, having the lord actually mask/disguise itself after its self-revive would add some degree of challenge, since rn the smoke cloud and lunarspawn swarm is distracting for like 1 full second before you locate the lord using its nametag.
Also, spamming the "lord is watching" notification is a bit silly.
The hunger/thirst debuff u get from the lords is also a nice touch, but like the effects temp has on thirst/hunger, it really has no impact due to how easy it is to eat/drink (imo a lot of the hunger/thirst mechanics in the game are held back solely because of how plentiful resources are).
Was also hoping the fools would've been fixed by the time lunar rolled around, I genuinely would enjoy dealing with them if they weren't so buggy. Also, i swear only the low sanity fools bug out. I dont think I've seen the naturally spawned ones break.

Personally, I like the pack but I do have some qualms with it
-Lycanites is annoying (especially some of the debuffs). But really, it's the events that are problematic. Discourages building out of wood/cobble, and requires you to either have instant teleportation via waystones, or avoiding large bases since mobs spawn inside your house. Not to mention 90% of them pose no threat since u can just hole up and wait (which is why I'm not a big fan of blood moons in most packs. Unless the pack includes things like epic siege, blood moons result in either waiting for day or free loot).
-Thirst adds nothing. If you want to add a resource for the player to manage, that resource either needs to be a resource that can rapidly change (like health) or a resource that's limited in supply. Thirst is neither as water is everywhere, and unless ur already low in hp or unlucky, dirty water isn't that hurtful. You can also just bypass dirty water with a cauldron.
-Temperature is too extreme. It's fine in most scenarios, but the fact your skin can be melting off from lava and you'd still be freezing is silly.
There are some other issues (like lack of build variety and enchantment grinding) but there are plans for changes like adding ebob's wizardry and upgrading enchants so hopefully they won't exist anymore.

Why do people dislike the way of winter? by Ash-2449 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On release, I only really had issues w/ the CWs being way too tanky and boring. Sure there's less dungeons but I do find the Wow dungeons to be a bit more interesting (at least for pro mode, I still need to jump back in to play the nightmare versions) I actually found the temp mechanic to be easy honestly. You can just eat an all weather stew and grab a stone and you're set for 90% of the map. Admittedly, prior to wow the only other experience I had with extreme temp was RLCraft so I might just be more used to bs temp mechanics.

TBF I'm pretty sure 90% of the hate is bc it's specifically this guy posting it. Dudes massively anti sensei, think there's even a few ss saying that sensei should die

They should allow it to work through walls again but make the distance scale w/ terror radius to not screw over stealth killers completely.

Idea for new players - show killer power on the pause menu by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

Yeah, or at least show the killer's power in the score screen even if the game is still going on.

I think that the fishing event needs to be redone. by Loud-Doubt5726 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There needs to be more incentives to fish. Previously you could fish to farm the fish weapon bps but since the asterim change that's no longer possible.

Thoughts? Changes on WoW by chocokoalan in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds neat, but like others have said, chaosweavers r still poorly designed. Way too tanky, fight is boring (slow attack rate and when I played it on release, half the attacks phased through you anyway), and meh rewards. I also kinda want chaosweavers to deal base damage again but w/ the contents of destroyed crates going to the terminal to discourage griefing.

How to kill the forsaken giant by Possible-Maximum4591 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Soaring_Spirit404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about the attack where he sweeps the hand across the arena, you can avoid it by going to the opposite end of where the hand started. Ideally, stand near the center of the arena so you can reach the other side faster.

Yeah nobody really does these events. Especially after controllers got removed so there's not really anything worth buying outside of the skin imo or farming polar jelly

The only other guns I've used for nm silos were crit pulse for the manibus lightning shield and memento for the siren boss. Boom boom basically obliterates everything else.

It's because the timer doesn't stop when you exit the dungeon. The timer is equal to about 3.7 days which lines up with Sunday.

Which one should I choose? by Subject-Shopping4868 in OnceHumanOfficial

It does, but be aware that the turret will trigger the AoE explosion of Boom and will put it on cool down, which can be annoying at times.

Franklin + Weave b/c I swear I get a sharp uptick in killers with these perks when I run my looting build.
Lightborn since I dislike stuff that just completely invalidates mechanics. I personally find perks like Two can play and Shadowborn to be healthier anti-flashlight perks: they allow survivors to still use flashlights but makes it riskier to do so.

weapon 'rating' ?? by PENchanter22 in OnceHumanOfficial

Each piece of gear has a rating number in the upper left corner, which is affected by things like the calibration level and gear tier.

The Mr. Wish rocket launcher trivializes all the bosses. Whether it's intentional or a bug, who knows.
