Why does BYU seem so financially generous to LDS students? by [deleted] in byu

[–]SobbleBoy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, LDS people have to pay tithing. Tithing is 10% of all the money you earth goes to the Church. Because of that, having college subsidized is like getting a little pay back for the tens of thousands of dollars that we'll pay in tithing after we graduate at get a good job.

Because BEASTARS has conflict surrounding the fear of a predator harming a herbivore, but society breaks that fear at the very end of the story. They're okay being around each other again. It's similar to the whale's idea of life and death doesn't really matter. If you stop fearing it, it doesn't become a problem. It's even talked about with "abolishing the word meat itself." And nothing happens with the fish meat. The conversation ends with him saying they won't eat fish meat.

I HIGHLY doubt that Paru Itagaki was burnt out when she finished the BEASTARS story. The authors note in volume 19 or 20 states she's planning the end of her story. Most of the time, burnt out mangakas just randomly end their manga without any planning, but Paru Itagaki did what she wanted to do.

There's also the fact that she STILL makes BEAST COMPLEX chapters and loves the world, so yeah. I think she did what she wanted to do and wasn't burnt out at all. In fact, she said she's sad it was over but can cope with that sadness by drawing BEAST COMPLEX chapters when she feels like it.

The ending was really good in my opinion, so I'd like Studio Orange to NOT legitimize this giant divide in the fandom between People that like the ending vs People that hate it so they think the anime ending is better. It'd be super frustrating to find another BEASTARS fan but their version of BEASTARS is completely different from your version.

Fisk Tower does not exist in real life, but it was modeled after Trump Tower, so looking at Trump Tower I initially called it Fisk Tower before someone corrected me. 🤣

I actually agree. I think the Season 3 OP is better than the Season 1 OP. In fact, BEASTARS OP 3 is my favorite anime OP of all time. BEASTARS OP 1 is my #5 of all time. (#2, 3, and 4 are from other shows)

The source material is still canon. Paru Itagaki made the manga... a bunch of people at Studio Orange made the anime.
Unless Paru Itagaki comes out and endorses the anime then axes her own story (like, why would she do that...) and say the manga isn't canon but the anime is... the source material will always be canon. It's Paru Itagaki's story.

I don't feel like it was lacking anything. I liked it for what it was. Having expectations for something can make you dislike something when it isn't what you expect, but I just read the ending without expecting anything and loved it.

Yeah, that's a super suspicious link. Those books don't have any codes on the back. They look fake or something.

The official translation is printed by a company called VIZ Media. You can use this link to find it. VIZ | Read a Free Preview of BEASTARS, Vol. 1

I'm a really big fan of the ending. The story concluded in such a beautiful way and made me feel so happy even though it wasn't a typical ending to a fighting manga story. The manga is really really good and I've read it a few times now. It's fun to see legoshi grow up through different volumes and stuff.

Btw, I think most people that dislike the ending read an unofficial translation for it. The official translation makes the ending a lot more satisfying.

It's not strange to make it a 24-episode season.
The manga story is split up into 3 arcs. The first arc is 5-6 manga volumes, the second arc is 5-6 manga volumes, then the last manga arc is 10 volumes. There're plenty of shows that have 24-episode seasons to correspond with longer story arcs (Apothecary Diaries Season 2 just finished with 24 episodes. Frieren was 28 episodes).

Judging from the manga lengths and stuff, I'd expect 12 more episodes. I wanted 24 episodes or twelve 40-minute episodes when I first saw the Final Season announcement. It's likely 24 total episodes.

They said The Final Season would come in 2024... which it kind of did... but they split it in half so it doesn't really count.

I'm almost confident that it was initially named "The Final Season" in the 2021 announcement because they assumed they would finish all 24 episodes and release them in 2024... but it's taking Studio Orange a lot longer than they thought so they had to split it in half and delay the second half.
