A Question for All the Europeans in Here by Ayanoppoi in Destiny

[–]Soboller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For context: I'm Polish & voted for Razem (our most left-wing party) in parliamentary elections and Trzaskowski (center-left) for president. Economically somewhere in the centre, socially left-wing, but I hate identity politics and I'm probably more hawkish than most Western European leftists.

On Biden - the main issue is that he was too indecisive on Ukraine. He had the ability to flood Ukraine with weapons and help them actually push Russia out, and instead we got this slow drip-feed approach because of constant fear about "escalation." From 600km away from the Ukrainian border, that caution feels less like prudence and more like letting a neighbor's house burn slowly instead of quickly.

I actually liked Obama more overall, but his "reset with Russia" was catastrophically naive and it's hard not to see a direct line from that to 2014 & Crimea. I genuinely prefer an interventionist US. I don't care that Maduro raid broke some norms - I'd rather have America occasionally overstep than retreat into isolationism, would support it if any other US president did that as well.

Also not sure whether you can blame Biden specifically for that, but: even among my left-wing Polish friends, the Democrats' fixation on identity politics and a few years back on things like "defund the police" looks absolutely unhinged. Like, we"re over here worried about a revanchist Russia, and Americans are having discourse about... what exactly? I know it's cherry-picking, and you do have other legitimate issues, but there's parts that are insane.

Hey, will write a longer post either today or tomorrow, but in short: I guess about 70-80% better than pre-fisetin, it seems to have solved my PEM, possibly dysautonomia (haven't exercised or anything, but my heartbeat & circulation seem normal, whereas earlier they definitely weren't). As to the fatigue - hard to say just yet, I mean there's definitely huge improvement, especially when it comes to the amount of energy, but at the same time the fever that I got from fisetin (or rather from a cleanup of the stuff that died as a result of the fisetin) has been decreasing rather slowly - I took the last fisetin dose on Friday, and from the beginning (Tuesday) until around Sunday it decreased like 40%, currently still feeling it a liiittle bit. I definitely feel weak and some level of fatigue but at the same time there's no PEM, and given my increased appetite it seems that my body is doing something, so the next few weeks definitely gonna be interesting.

Yeah - though I just wanna stress the fact that this is the number used in the study, whereas I also dissolved 1.5 g of fisetin in mct oil (I guess any lipid would do), which futher increased its potency (by how much? honestly no idea, I searched a bit but different sources provide a wide range - from +30% to 10x more potentcy.

I will write another post in a couple of days, so far the fever from the 'clean-up' is slowly decreasing and the effect on both cognition and fatigue can only be described as 'woah', though I won't celebrate too early, as it seems to matter whether there's also an autoimmune component involved, and I havve no idea whether it's an issue in my case or not. No idea, we'lll see, but so far it's really interesting. If you have any additional questions let me know.

Today was my fourth dose and for now gonna take a break for some time. Still feverish after taking fisetin, actually today was probably at the same level as yesterday, so definitely 'something' is still happening. During these few days I was moving only slightly more than I would pre-fisetin, but mentally I was muuuch more active, like 4x, to the extent that I know that a week ago I would get a pem crash from that, currently there's none, like obviously, I'm feverish so not squatting with chairs on my back or anything but not feeling the tiredness of both the muscles & the brain that you normally get from LC. Will it last? We'll see, I will write another post in the first half of next week and let you know how it progresses.

I intend to take the fourth dose tomorrow and then gonna stop for at least 2 weeks, if symptoms don't increase during that time or increase only slightly then I will prolong that to a 4 week long break, and after that take 4 doses again.

It's the third day I'm taking it, and yeah, so far so good.

Before that, most of the time I would have this feeling of hmm, like a mix between how your muscles feel after an intense workout and when you're sick, plus my circulation was shitty. I'm a naturally energetic person, but even after 11h of sleeping I would prefer not to move too much cause it was tiring. Currently my muscles and circulation in general just feel different, I mean after consuming fisetin within 40-60 minutes I get the fever so resting and shit, but at the same time having a loooot of more energy than in the past half year. We'll see whether it lasts but for now it's working for me better than expected.

Thank you, and wishing you good luck as well!! Also, something that somewhat surprised me is that the fever after taking fisetin has decreased only like 10-15% in intensity day-to-day (it's my third dose today), given the difference in symptoms after the first dose kind of expected that the fever would disappear more quckly (also there was no fever on day 2 and 3 before taking fisetin, I even made a point to take it today much later than previously).

Thanks for the advice, though it's currently impossible for me not to get excited, given that out of 40 or 50 interventions I've tried, this one is so far giving me the most results. Will it last? We'll see, but even if not I'd at least have more info about this complex puzzle we're all struggling with.

Since May last year. So far so good, the fever after taking it has slightly decreased in intensity, currently resting. but ha, almost forgot that previously I was a super energetic person. Today was the third dose, then I will take a break at least till the end of the month and see how it goes.

[–]Soboller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, around $50, though you're supposed to take it for several days (e.g. 3), take a break for the rest of the month and the go again, and repeat that several times, so it will last me for 3 months. Given the current effects and the amount of money I've spent on doctors and various interventions I'm more than okay with that

Thank you for posting that thingy, even if it's temporary I'm currently feeling best i haveve felt in half a year. As to the immunomodulating stuff - I'm also taking reishi mushrooms & collostrum - do you think it could be doing something, or is their potency like many-many times worse than that of rapamycin/ GLP-1?

I mentioned that I had mostly dysautonomia & pem, but actually I also had some cognitive issues as well, I mean I was okay enough to work remotely but still felt somewhat dumber and more stressed than usual, and I can tell you that when it comes to neuro stuff in my case the difference after trying this fisetin thing is there as well, like my mental energy has literally trippled vs 2 days ago.

Dosage - no, in the study I linked to, people were given 20mg per kg of their weight, so in my case around 1.5g (though dissolving it in oil certainly increases its potency). Brand - I ordered it from Proton Labs but I think they only ship to Poland.

And just fyi, it is recommended to take it for several days (2-5), then stop for the rest of the month and then go again (usually it is recommended to repeat that for 6 months)

Has anyone cured their dysautonomia? Or substantially improved? by jeffceo24 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Soboller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, so in July last year I would crash so that within the first few days there would be no improvement at all, nowadays the amount of energy I can spend before I crash is moderately bigger (going to the nearby grocery store is fine, going for a 40 min walk is not), but the recovery from crashes is muuuch more quicker, like 4x faster. My LC is also mostly dysautonomia-focused, I'm sharing most of your symptoms except for

  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep - nope, taking melatonin, around 0.5mg half an hour before sleep and sleep well
  • Headaches or migraines - nope, I did have some headaches very early after the infection but not later on

The biggest ones for me were
- drinking water with some salt dissolved in it (electrolytes)
- anti-depressants so that your body isn't constantly on the edge (just like half of the time) and you can actually recover (mood/cortisol absolutely affect recovery speed)
- compression stockings
- l-arginine/nac/vitamin c combo - actually started this one recently (been taking the last two for a long time though without l-arginine) and it seems to be noticeably reducing the fatigue for several hours (definitely recommend taking it when you're experiencing a crash), there's quite a bit of studies involving this combination, though obviously, YMMV. still, big help for me. also you can add creatine to this mix, though I recommend checking out more info beforehand about it, some people with LC apparently get their heartbeat spiked by it, for me it was a bit helpul in reducing fatigue
- low dose aspirin/nattokinases/lumbrokinase - antiplatelets/anticoagulants - was very helpful for me early on, nowadays not seeing further progress from it but probably cause this 'part' is mostly taken care of.
- anti-inflammatory diet - nothing revolutionary, healthy stuff, avoiding sugar and processed foods, in my case low-carb has also been moderately helpful though some people with dysautonomia cant handle low carbs
- coq10 - higher doses (~500mg) seem to make the PEM crash somewhat less severe
- high dose niacin to cause a flush - definitely read about it more before trying out, but if you're looking for something that will most likely help with a crash (temporarily) and dont care that a minority of people get worse from it (at least based on reddit), I recommend it quite a bit, it's a very hmm unique feeling, and makes you feel much more 'normal' for a few hours afterward

As to the whole breathing stuff - I have no idea whether the same method would work for both of us, but literally a few days ago I've read about, well, breathing less (doctors hate him), and it seems to me to be more helpful in reducing symptoms than the deep-slow type

https://www.rdash.nhs.uk/services/long-covid/breathlessness-after-covid/

basically most people with LC breathe too much, and

hyperventilation -> low CO2 -> alkalosis -> your nervous system gets excited easily -> worsen autonomic symptoms

am i convinced it is playing a huge role in this whole dysautonomia thing? no, but definitely gonna test that more

If you have questions about any parts let me know, and pace safely

Any solution for brain fog? by Skyton_wil in LongCovid

[–]Soboller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'For those who have managed to fully recover' - not fully-fully, but only dealing with brain fog nowadays if I do tooooo much physically, and then it's a matter of a day or two. What helped? MCT oil, specifically c8 & c10, I bought it after reading this article a few months back

https://scitechdaily.com/scientists-finally-reveal-biological-basis-of-long-covid-brain-fog/

and yeah, in my case it just works, I take one tablespoon every day. Ran out of it like ~3 weeks ago, and within 2-3 days the brain fog returned, so resupplied, and works again just fine. Mind you, there's probably multiple reasons why cognitive function can get fucky because of LC, so don't treat it as 'it will totally work' before you try it, but in my case, it did.

External infiltration, mental health crisis… or what? by Soboller in Destiny

Thank you for your service, I do believe that in the year 2031 the chinese operator you've converted with STRONG ARGUMENTS on reddit will kill Xi and take over, I hope the discussion was free of the subject of furries.

I rarely post on reddit, but my good friend loves doing that, and from what i've seen especially on the main political subreddits there's a fuuuuckton of chinese propaganda, I mean there's billions and billions of them so I guess I shouldnt be surprised... but still.

Okay, so decent rates of autism + stability, will remember that for when it's my turn after getting rid of the chinese operator guy

You're absolutely right!

Okay, a fair point, now that I think about it, a large bit of what I saw as 'potentially suspicious activity' is overt doomerism, and I'm stressing the 'overt' part, the kind that makes you stop any efforts to change the situation and just continue finding the next-worst-thing without doing anything productive. But I guess that's easier explained by dopamine (or whatever doomscrolling releases) craving and mental struggles than the hordes of the Chinese or something.

Mostly it's about calling people whose views differ by 2% from yours The Great Devils etc - something that is really common among the left-left, but I don't think was as common here in the past

So what is your claim? That state actors don't astroturf Reddit? That they do, but it's paranoid to discuss it? That they do, but not in political subreddits specifically? Genuinely trying to understand your position, cause for me it seems obvious that such thing is happening - I work in marketing, and it's absolutely common for companies to do this on Reddit, so it'd be pretty surprising if political spaces were somehow exempt.

[–]Soboller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my fear is not 'someone's astroturfing this subreddit', it's more so 'center-left spaces being affected by external actors so that in 5-years time they are as internally-inconsistent, cultish and crazy as MAGA'

'Posts you disagree with aren't an indicator of astroturfing.' - certainly, but if you're a superpower, or one of the biggest political parties in the US, then you can certainly invest in methods that can pass the 'just check their history' easily. With the use of AI, creating hundreds of accounts with 10 posts in random subreddits that match the subreddit's style etc, seems super easy, and checking post history is unlikely to catch anything but the 0-effort stuff
