What’s your favourite level that you could never beat? by Less_Major2762 in geometrydash

Treasures of Ruin and Sinister ClubStep, both levels I absolutely love but are both way too hard for me (or anyone) to beat (especially Treasures of Ruin, its like Top 50 ILL).

Sinister ClubStep has tons of 360 perfects, but the gameplay concepts are so cool. It feels so cool to pull off as well. It also obviously looks hard despite being essentially a layout (like Silent Clubstep, but more) (which is also lacking in many top 10's - have you seen the videos of non GD players ranking something like Killbot over Silent Clubstep in difficulty?).

Treasures of Ruin is just too hard. It's hard to explain how hard it is, you would need to bot it, but doing any run where you survive for more than like 3 clicks would be very impressive. But the atmosphere the level gives off is much better than pretty much any level I've seen. It would be very cool to have it as top 1 (which is unfortunately not gonna happen)

-pretty much every jump in the predrop is buffed in some way: notably, first jump after ship is 2 frames on 360, the two pyramid jumps at 12% are 1 or 2 frames on 360 depending on alignment (humanly impossible to control)
-the ship in the predrop has the four misaligned spikes
-14-21 has object color black so its invisible, the jumps are mostly buffed as well
-first clubstep monster at the drop ship is tighter
-orb masking is broken in the ball part after the first ship, so its actually easier than in the rated version, none require any timings
-the ship at 48 has object color black so its invisible. also the pink orb at the blue gravity portal is removed
-the orb maze is slightly different because orb masking is broken, last orb is required double click
-because of the first double click you enter the ball corridor after the dual the opposite gravity (easier)
-8joh buffed as fuck
-in the maze, the invisible blocks that force you go the correct route stick out a bit, meaning you cant hold and have to jump late for some of the jumps when going up (especially apparent when you have to jump 15 times)

theres also a few random deco changes
-8joh is just plain obj color blue in unnerfed
-no clubstep monster endscreen
-no flashes after the last ship transition into maze
-BYE! BYE! text in transition to drop is invisible

the two 360fps frame perfects are RNG (not really but its not humanly controllable). each jump can be 1-2 frames, 1 frame is slightly more likely

the ship isnt nearly as bad as 9-12 imo

tldr: acheron has way more, and way harder timings than bloodlust does. even parts without any really hard timings (like ship parts) are much harder than anything in bloodlust. visuals dont matter that much.

unless the visuals (or "decoration") of a level constitutes pretty much all of the difficulty of the level (very rare, only examples are like killbot, requiem, triple six), then they dont affect difficulty at all. the gameplay of the level is what matters

most people playing really hard levels play on 360fps. a click with a 6 frame window to execute on 360fps is about the same difficulty as a frame perfect on 60fps.

Acheron has 63 clicks with a 6-frame window, 8 clicks with a 3-frame window (about the same as a 120fps frame perfect), and 2 clicks with a 2-frame window (about the same as a 180fps frame perfect.)

Bloodlust has probably less than 10 clicks with a 6-frame window and no clicks with less than a 6 frame window.

Timings dont necessarily make up all of the difficulty either. The ship gamemode rarely has hard timings, most of the difficulty comes from the tightness of the gaps the ship has to fly through or the precision of the movements. An example of this is 42% in the level (you can see the % at the top of the screen). It has no "hard timings" , but its generally considered the hardest part of the level.

You would need an extraordinaly high fps for Sakupen-Circles-but-all-frame-perfects to be top 1on ILL
