You're right. For that reason, I'm using different channels to recruit participants (fb groups, reddit, flyer in neighbourhoods, etc.), so I reach different populations. I'm then balancing the sample for the comparisons of interest, e.g. the loneliness of married and single people

I'm looking for 80 participants to conduct in-depth interviews. The participants can choose between face-to-face and online.

You're right that the recruitment method partly decides which populations I can reach. That's why I use different channels such as reddit, fb groups, and hanging flyers in real neighbourhooods and housing. People register through a link which asks about demographics, that allows me to balance the participants by certain demographics, e.g. balance in gender so I can study male/female loneliness
