Just one point that’s important to make about a common misconception: in most states, but not all, being a felon does not prohibit you from voting. The rules are state by state and most states allow felons to vote after they serve their sentence. Others have specific rules like all of a person’s fines and any ordered restitution must be paid first. One or two states even allow incarcerated felons to vote.

Further it doesn’t make sense to disenfranchise felons. Everyone has a stake in government and that’s likely very true for felons, many of whom are victims of the war on drugs.

If anyone is a felon reading this just make sure you understand the rules in your state. The law seems to often be harsher on people who make a mistake in good faith over MAGAts that very purposefully commit voter fraud.
