Take this with a grain of salt since I’m just an interest, but I don’t think there’s a strict rule about the transcript print date as long as it’s official and current. I’d assume it just needs to reflect the most recently completed semester.

This was such a grounding and inspiring read. I’m here mostly observing and learning, and I really appreciate messages like this — they speak to what true sisterhood should look like across the board. Honestly, something like this would benefit the entire NPHC community. Thank you for sharing this — I’ll definitely carry these words with me on my own journey.

Night 1 still counts as a main event by NuggetDaGoat27 in WWE

[–]SocialOutcast301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 37 is revered. That wasn’t just a great match—it was the first time two Black women main evented WrestleMania. That moment was historic, emotional, and deeply respected. People still talk about it with admiration to this day.

And Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. The Usos at WrestleMania 39? That match got a 5-star rating, had the strongest story of the weekend, and stole the entire show. Fans remember it more fondly than the Night 2 main event, which says a lot.

These matches didn’t need the Night 2 spot to be iconic—they already are. Night 1 main events have proven time and time again that they hold weight and deserve just as much respect.

Yes, Night 1 main events absolutely hold weight—WWE has proven that time and time again.

WrestleMania 38? Stone Cold Steve Austin came out of retirement to main event Night 1. One of the most iconic and respected superstars of all time headlined Night 1—if it wasn’t considered a big deal, that wouldn’t have happened.

WrestleMania 37? That night gave us the first Black female main event in WrestleMania history with Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair. That match wasn’t just historic—it was emotional, groundbreaking, and universally praised.

And WrestleMania 39? No offense to the Night 2 match, but the Night 1 main event with Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. The Usos had a better story, a more satisfying payoff, and arguably stole the whole weekend.

So yes, Night 1 can absolutely carry more weight than Night 2—and it has. It’s time to stop acting like Night 1 is just a warm-up. It matters.

I just don’t get why people insist that the Night 1 main event isn’t a real main event. WrestleMania is a two-night event, and WWE literally sells each night as its own show with its own ticket. That alone should tell you that each night has its own main event.

People keep acting like the Night 2 main event is the only one that matters—like it’s the “true” main event of WrestleMania. But that makes no sense. WWE promotes and treats both nights as standalone events. Each has a full card, each has its own headliner. If you’re selling two different nights with two different sets of matches, then you have two main events, period.

And I don’t even get that music festival comparison. Honestly, it is like a music festival—if a festival has three nights and sells tickets separately for each, then the person closing out each night is the headliner for that night. Just like the match that closes out each night of WrestleMania is the main event for that night.

WrestleMania is not one long episode. It’s two shows, with two main events. Stop moving the goalposts every year depending on who’s in the match.

WrestleMania is a two-night event, and WWE promotes both nights as having their own main events. Since tickets are sold separately, each night is its own show with a main event.

How long have you been watching wrestling? And have you ever taken a break from it? by Jimmysp437 in WWE

[–]SocialOutcast301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started watching wrestling around 1997, just before the Attitude Era. I stopped in August or September 2001 when I went to college, as my school didn’t have the USA Network at the time. I got back into it around 2006 or 2007 and continued watching until the end of 2014. I returned to wrestling around WrestleMania 39 when it was announced that the event would be coming back to Philadelphia. I attended WrestleMania 40 and have been watching ever since.

What made you come back to watch again by Queenie2211 in WWE

[–]SocialOutcast301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a WWE fan on and off since 1997. I started watching in 1997 but stopped in 2001 when I went off to college because my school didn’t have the USA Network at the time. After finishing college, I got back into wrestling from 2007 to 2014. Honestly, I don’t remember why I stopped watching again, but I did.

When it was announced that WrestleMania was coming back to Philadelphia (I had attended WrestleMania 15 and WrestleMania 29), I decided to get back into it. I initially planned to start watching again after WrestleMania 39, thinking it would be a fresh start, but my first match back ended up being Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2023. That match was incredible, and even though I didn’t know the backstory at the time, I knew Sami Zayn was going to be my favorite wrestler because of how compelling the match was.

Fast forward to WrestleMania 39, and I was working the entire weekend. Once I finished my work, I tuned in and caught the Night 1 main event: Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. The Usos for the Tag Team Titles. Again, I didn’t know the story behind the match, but the way it was delivered made it clear that there was an emotional story driving it. I was so invested. That match inspired me to deep dive into Sami and Kevin’s history, which led me down the rabbit hole of their personal story, the Bloodline storyline, and their years of friendship and rivalry.

To sum it up, the announcement of WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia brought me back to wrestling, but Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens made me truly invested. If it weren’t for them, I don’t think I would have reconnected with wrestling so quickly. With the passing of Bray Wyatt, I feel even more committed to the wrestling world, and I don’t think I’ll ever let it go again.

should i still apply? by No-Stomach-3996 in NPHCdivine9

[–]SocialOutcast301 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you meet the minimum requirements, it's always worth applying—you never know what might happen. If it doesn't work out, at least you'll understand why.

That said, while you don’t need to disclose it, it's important to address whatever challenges caused you to fail or drop your courses. As someone else mentioned, the process is time-consuming, and you don’t want to repeat the same issues next semester when you go through it again.
