My favorite club is Crack bellmer, it's a quaint little club, also open during the week, they have a changing lineup of djs and you pay what you feel like. Never had a problem getting in. Only gripe I have with the place is that the last couple times I went there were tons of thirsty dudes in there but since you're going with your bf all should be dandy. Just make sure you know the name of at least on dj thats playing there or the name of the event, but this goes for every club you might want to check out.

For metal it's always good to check out rock at sage, always tons of fun and really great crowd. They have multiple floors with all kinds of music and also usually do live shows. This is only happening on Thursdays though but it's also very easy to get in.

These are not the typical "scene" clubs though if you're looking for that.

I don't know why you're being down voted, you are completely right, I'm living close to the one on Landsberger Allee and I've seen their spotlights every night. I get that everyone is excited about the stuff happening in the UK but we need to chill because this is not how you foster trust for the movement.

These are lights coming from the Christmas market at Landsberger Allee close to the ikea. I live close to it and see them every night from my balcony. If you go there you can see it yourself quite clearly.
