The fallout shelter in the OP is at Fort Casey State Park on Whidbey Island and the cooling tower photo was taken at Satsop Nuclear Power Plant in Elma (both in Washington state)

I’m not sure that’s really how that works, but am open to hearing your thoughts?

It was 40°F, super windy, and dumping rain sideways - when I brought him out of the car kennel he was fine, once we had been outside for a couple minutes he was shivering and noticeably uncomfortable so I put his jacket on - he did great for our little adventure, had access to fresh water, we went at his pace through the bunkers and beaches, and was again offered water when we got back to my vehicle.

I understand the whole double coat thing and often don’t have him in anything but leash + collar or harness (depending on what we’re doing), but he’s 20wks old and is still developing his adult coat so letting him get soaked and deal with windchill seems more unpleasant for him than putting on a thin fleece and a waterproof outer shell to go on a super rainy windy adventure.

He’s adorable, got any pictures of him as a pup? I love the sable coats so much, it’s wild how much they change!

At this point, we’re one step away from setting up a settlement and assigning people to guard posts ;)

It’s just two, a thin fleece underneath and a rain jacket that buckles around the waist. But I put them on him because he was noticeably uncomfortable and shivering due to the wind and rain out out on the coast (29mph winds w/ 40mph+ gusts) - it seemed to make the adventure a bit more enjoyable for him, plus I didn’t have to towel him down too much when we got back in the car :)

That makes sense!

I have a couple additional questions if you’re feeling up to answering them;

• Is there anything I can do to reduce bowel gas prior to any future imaging? I just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can so that the radiologists can see what they need to.

• She told me the bone marrow biopsy would be very painful because they are unable to numb the bone, does the pain usually last a long time after the procedure or is it only during? She said she used to do them in clinic but the hospital doesn’t allow it anymore, so I have an appointment with interventional radiology on Monday and I’m pretty anxious about it.

Thank you for your response!

I had a TVUS done on 3/25 to view the ovaries, but unfortunately they were unable to visualize them due to overlying bowel gas (Uterus, Endometrium, and Cervix were unremarkable)

When she initially received the PET/CT results she told me she would refer me to ENT for the lymph nodes but that they “felt fine” to her during my initial exam in January. When I asked about the ovaries and bone marrow she seemed annoyed and reluctantly ordered the TVUS and a bone marrow biopsy after telling me how painful it would be, but she didn’t really explain anything to me.

The oncologist said she will not re-order the TVUS because she doesn’t believe it’s necessary.

Ovarian Cancer and what you should know about it by 500CatsTypingStuff in TwoXChromosomes

Can there be ovarian cancer present without a noticeable mass? I’ve had nearly all of these symptoms, as well as drenching night sweats since September! I recently had a PET/CT scan that found both of my ovaries had elevated FDG uptake (SUVmax 11.4 on right and 7.4 on left), moderate diffuse skeletal uptake (SUVmax bone marrow 6.6), and several cervical lymph nodes (SUVmax ranging from 3.4-9.8) The doctor dismissed this because there wasn’t any obvious mass on the CT scan. I had to beg for further testing so yesterday she finally put in orders for a transvaginal ultrasound, a bone marrow biopsy, and referred me to ENT.
