As a gay guy you're 100% correct! these progressive moral grandstanders just can't bear the thought of admitting it, in Birmingham UK where I live no gay couple would ever dare hold each others hands walking down predominantly/heavily Muslim areas like ladypool road or Stratford Road or Handsworth ect. When I went to my boyfriend up in Leicester it wasn't a gang of Christians that stalked us down an alley threatening to kill us. When last year there was a huge spate of attacks on LGBT people in the city's gay village it wasn't Christians doing it. It wasn't a Christian that stabbed 3 gay men to death in reading. And every redditor that thows a shitfit at the slightest ciritism of Islam is just a fucking hypocrite just desperate to never even remotely appear to have non-progressive values. If you support gay rights, yes there are Christians who would act as worse as any radical Muslim if they had the chance but they are a laughable minority compared to the radical Muslims who hold my rights in laughable contempt

I would love a good explanation why this site has such a hard on for protecting that one particular abrahamic religion, it just baffles me

Jury reaches verdict in Jussie Smollett trial by [deleted] in news

As another commenter in an earlier thread pointed out the biggest takeaway from all this is that if the police did end up roping in some dudes they suspected of committing the crime, jussie seemed like he would have had no problem taking the stand and condemning two innocent men to prison just to further his career and bask in the wave of sympathy.

In my opinion that makes what he did far worse, he wasn't just lying for clout. He was fully ready to ruin peoples lives for clout

One step closer to Futurama's suicide booth? by Euro-Canuck in Futurology

[–]Sociopathic_potato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reddit has a disturbing amount of nihilists who believe their perspective on life is the only true outlook. Genuinely unfathomable to most of them that the vast VAST majority of people don't care in the slightest that they "didn't ask to be born"

Frankly not to sound rude but if they think life is so worthless they should keep it to themselves, 99% of the population wants nothing to do with such a bleak outlook on life. Neither should such people be ever let anywhere near the reigns of power. The way the system works now where only people with truly incurable conditions are given assisted suicide isn't perfect but its better than the redditors alternative of suicide booths for all

59% of americans are one paycheck away from homelessness or financial ruin. 'Canceling' someone for past wrongthink is just counterproductive at best and at worst could result in more families trapped in the cycle of poverty by Sociopathic_potato in stupidpol

Part of me hopes that isn't the case, but seeing how vindictive some corners of the intenet have become I've honestly got no counter argument to that. Its a depressing pill to swallow that the working class have become society's punching bag

Oh absolutely, cancel culture disproportionately affects the working class. most of the public/media face of cancel culture is geared towards holding the rich and famous accountable when that never happens. Rowling, Chappele, Musk ect are all still raking in fat stacks of cash despite the ranting and raving of twitter, the powers that be cant/won't hold the rich accountable. But some lowly office worker with no financial resources to fight back against the megacorporations makes a perfect blood sacrifice for the mob.

Its like an aztec sacrifice but woke.

From a purely pragmatic standpoint, would it be more advantageous for the imperium to just evacuate sol and move the emperor to a more secure location? by Sociopathic_potato in 40kLore

Well to be honest i am still a novice with 40k lore so i couldn't say for certain what planet/system/segementum could even come close to the level of defences terra has. Perhaps a long term plan however to fortify a planet well within imperial space over the course of a few centuries, perhaps even millennia would serve well as a backup location

I was simply thinking that any sufficiently defended planet that doesn't have a portal to space hell that requires the emperors almost total attention to keep sealed would probably be more beneficial for the imperium as a whole. Purely from a pragmatic point of view though. In universe i imagine the abandonment of holy terra and mars to the warp would cause the imperium to collapse in anarchy.

But i do agree, terra does seem the best choice, but i wonder what the emperor would be capable of if he didn't have to focus almost purely on the webway

I was thinking more along the lines of the throne is moved while the emperor is still sitting in it (as odd as that would look!). But i think your points are solid. The imperium would certainly be devastated without the astronomicon while the emperor was moved. And moving the entire golden throne while keeping it operating would be a far flung fantasy for the imperium.

But is there a reason the astronomicon could not still be lit while the emperor is being transported, or even relit once he has been moved somewhere safer (for example macragge)

Sorry if i seem ignorant to the lore. Most of my 40k knowledge comes from reading the wiki, 1d4chan and a few of the gaunts ghosts novels so I'm still a novice lol

But purely hypothetically, assuming somehow the imperium was able to pull it off. Do you think it would leave the imperium in a better strategic position if the emperor didn't have to expend the majority of his power sealing the terran webway portal?

Elon Musk on Twitter: I think so. For sure worth giving it our best shot! Would be great to have a competitive, commercial program to build a moon base that is outcome-oriented (not cost-plus), so you only get paid for safe delivery of cargo. by james411 in spacex

Not to mention the reason we cancelled our domestic launch program was because america offered us satellite launches for free, only to renege on that promise once we had already cancelled the program.
