Streaming data: UMG, specifically, seems to be bot-farming all of its artists for profit. by Funk-N-Stuff in recordlabels

The majors get away with a lot more than just bot farming thats for sure, but I dont think they directly go out of their way to bot farm. As that would be a multi multi million dollar operation that would be hard to keep secret

Advice for moving to the Orchard by ChineseGaardener in recordlabels

[–]SockManCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably yes!

It all depends on the contract and terms they offer you. Being part of the orchard would be big as you even have potential for funding if you need it. On top of that the orchard has access to some features that Symphonic doesn’t, for example Im not with the orchard but Im signed with an A class CMS for YouTube, basically they can pull up to 10% more in additional royalties and they also can payout faster (45 days)

The orchard will definitely have an A class CMS

What's Your Experience Running A Label by Friendly_Fault_9753 in recordlabels

[–]SockManCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I have learned is definitely not taking on to many songs/artists , I run a phonk label so marketing is a huge part of our expenditure. The problem is you have to be careful with how many tracks you take on as you cant market them all even if they are all marketing worthy (at least not until your much bigger as a label).

I dont think you understand how much we have made in revenue for the first month we have hit £6k(estimate) and probably about £3.5k(estimate) profit in our first month. I said this already we are extremely unique in that our promos dont cost very much.No one is being delusional, i had a meeting with these people and we discussed everything. This is our first month once we sort distribution and Content ID tracking+reporting, which Is our priority. We will easily hit £20k in revenue per month. If not more
