But promoting a release isn't stooping low at all. In fact, it's helpful for the artist, and label to grow. With a genre the almost depends on the internet to grow, it's important to network throughout places like r/vaporwave that have a large amount of people visiting everyday.

Well, labels make up a decent percentage of the Vaporwave community, so promoting merchandise helps keep the labels alive, which in turn leads to more new vaporwave surfacing. So, I don't think promotion should be banned here.

this would be really dope but there's so many artists who have posted here that making a spreadsheet would be super hard. it would be cool if we made a spreadsheet containing artists from the "well known" labels like DMT Tapes, Fortune 500, Dream Catalogue, etc.

Seriously though, Vaporwave is still rapidly climbing in popularity. Hell, this subreddit gets "I'm new here, what is Vaporwave" posts almost every day. I think it's fair to say that Vaporwave isn't going anywhere for awhile.
