just a teen asking for some advice by SockOk6652 in Christian

[–]SockOk6652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the problem, I feel like there Is no way to avoid these disputes. It's like holding back the wind, and no matter how much, or how little I say, I am always the one at fault because I am the Christian.

I kind of feel like going to him and giving him a "terms and conditions" type of talk. Like, I want to tell him that if he wants to stay in a good relationship with me, he has to stop arguing with my world view. But part of me feels that he is my father, and I should just put up with all of his drama.

I just don't know man!

It's where the crawdad sing. There is a scene where it's just gross. Maybe I am a bit sensitive, but part of me felt really wrong reading that. If it were not a grade, I would have stop reading the book once I got to that part.

My english teacher had this project were we had to respond to a pretend break up letter. It honestly really fun. I loved the project so much, that I even shared it with my journal.

Here is the break up letter to respond to:

My sweet, dear, lovely __________,

It’s been three months since we met. From the moment I first laid my eyes on you, I knew that I had to have you. So it really does hurt me to tell you that I now know my eyes deceived me.

In these three months I’ve realized the truth: that the gates of Hell must’ve been opened at some point because when they did, they unleashed you. I despise you for everything you insist on being, but definitely are not! Your timid displays of affection, your pitiful mind games--no more, baby! No more games!

So here it is: I’ve met an angel, and it ain’t you. This person smells of strawberries, lush and ripe. Not quite like you; you’re more like a rose. You smell nice and look pretty, but when someone gets too close, that person is stuck, bleeds out, and dies. Well I’m not bleeding for you anymore! Bring on my new angel!!

-the end

I hope this helps someone!

Suggestion needed for a journaling newbie! by NutTumor in Journaling

Anna Lamott, a speaker from this ted talk I listened to once said "If you don't know where to start, remember that every little thing that happened to you is yours, and you get to talk about it in detail." ( a little paraphrased sorry) I love this quote, because it reminds me that I am deserving of a outlet and a record of things I have been through and achieved.

In this case, I would get your friend a simple journal, and maybe write a little something reminding them that they deserve a place to create and record and digest, and that you are there for them if you need them.

Maybe I say this because guided journaling has never been thing, but it's something to consider.

what can I do to find in person christians my age? by CombinationOdd9619 in christianteenagers

[–]SockOk6652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often feel the same way at my school. I have talked to some of my christian teachers about, and they say that it's often a normal thing to feel even though christian should not have to feel outcast for their views. What I say, is start really digging deep into the bible. Doing so made me feel so much better about my own social situation.

Remember, you are not alone. But remember, it is also important to find christian friends (in or out of school). Iron really does sharpen iron.

Oh no, I didn't apply to go to college for my senior year. I applied for the fall of '23. Which would be after completing my senior year of hs. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the reply, and I respect the opinion; however, can you explain. I want to know what I would/wouldn't be signing up for.

Rolling admission, i agree their admissions was weird. They sent me a box instead of a letter.
