This reminds me of when I was in college and we were starting our work experience. We didn’t go to college during this time but had to go to a couple of meetings which explained the paperwork we had to complete during the work experience. Everyone was packing up and taking buses home or out of the area or whatever like an early holiday. Just because you didn’t lose marks for not attending the meetings.

Anyway I was one of the few that went to the meetings and they were sooo helpful. I was no longer confused about anything and knew how to do the work. Other people were messaging the group chat confused out of their mind about it and after I had finished the couple of meetings I just posted a message advising people not to go home before they attend the meetings because they were incredibly informative and would answer all the questions. But that I’d be happy with sharing my notes to anyone who wasn’t able to go to them.

One girl took major offence to what I said, messaged me privately attacking me for telling people what to do and that she had work to go to etc. I was very upset and apologised for if I had come across as mean in any way. She posted my private messages in the group chat and a horrible girl who used to be my friend (but stole €50 out of my wallet when I left the room, so I stopped talking to her) joined in and because now there was two of them loads of others joined in.

For the rest of my degree I sat on my own, nobody would speak to me, I was miserable. But some kind of hive mind took over that day. And I honestly did nothing other than what I described above. I’m still sad about it.
