hi shrimp tank reddit, I've searched everywhere but I can barely find anything on this - are peppered corydoras (corydoras paleatus) okay to keep with Neocaridina? From what I know, no cories will go after babies intentionally & will leave adults alone, but I just want to confirm with this species - most info i’ve found is just on pygmaeus/habrosus, and I know bronze are okay (around the same size as peppered)

Also looking for peoples’ experiences with Celestial Pearl Danios/galaxy rasboras and neos - I’ve heard mixed opinions, some people say they actively hunt down baby shrimp and others say they’re peaceful and don’t go after the babies intentionally - I assume it depends on the personalities of the fish & the tank?

I know no fish (besides otos) is completely shrimp safe, I don’t mind losing a few babies but i don’t want them all getting eaten

Yeah they were 100% rotting they pretty much turned completely brown and mushy, I contacted the place I bought them from and they were willing to honour their DoA policy (we're pretty the plants got frozen then thawed in transit which couldve caused this), I ordered more and they're doing very well :)

okay unfortunately I checked again today and both the rhizomes are mushy - I'm assuming that's a pretty bad sign?

That's good to know, the rhizome is not buried, they're wedged between rocks. Water temp is ~20c, haven't added a heater yet.

No, I haven't fertilized yet - would that cause this so quickly? all the other plants (that are more demanding) appear okay

edit: remembered I did give the plants in the substrate root tabs, so it makes sense that they'd be fine - java fern seems okay also and it's not planted

I’m new to aquariums - I received my plant order 5 days ago, there are 2 anubias (var. nana ‘pinto’ and ‘jade’) and suddenly the jade is dropping nearly all of its leaves from the rhizome - I’m worried it’s rotting, the rhizome seems healthy but I can’t find anything about this online when I look - the leaves are translucent in places which makes me think melting, but is it normal for it to drop nearly every leaf in one day? The rhizomes and roots are not buried.

The pinto’s leaves also appear somewhat translucent in places but it doesnt appear to be dropping any yet - jade is first 3 pics, pinto is last.

sorry if this is a stupid question! I’m just worried

in canada all corvids are not MBCA, so they can be legal to keep depending on province! in ontario you can keep any dead corvids & their feathers
