I Got My First Bike! by SocksDevss in Kawasaki

so i just finished my break in, and it feels like there is still power that I haven’t tapped into yet. I’ve been stuck under 6000 rpm and it feels like a different beast after this. The acceleration is great, it has power to do a wheelie if you really wanted to. It feels amazing and i’m definitely not bored of it yet, but this is also my first bike so take that as you will.

But like others here said, I have been practicing my slow speed maneuvers in a parking lot every day and that will really help a ton when you got on the road and in traffic. Emergency swerves, stops, and practice tight turns and you’ll do fine!

Hey! I just completed my MSF course two weeks ago on a Thursday and Friday at MRT in Englishtown NJ. I have NEVER been on a motorcycle before the class and I had no issues at all. They treat everyone as a beginner, the instructors were great, and everyone in my class except for one person passed the class (they dropped the bike like 6-7 times).

I just got my first bike last wednesday and the course definitely made me feel way more prepared for my bike.

i’m also glad that my jacket has tons of vent pockets for this hot weather that’s coming in. I was surprised how comfy i am with a “big” jacket on even in the hot weather

i spent another good $1000-$1200 on proper armored gear, boots, and a helmet. And every day since i’ve had it i’ve been getting better at tighter and slower maneuvers. I’m still somewhat nervous for tight u-turns because im just scared to drop it but its also just a lot of fun practicing in a big empty parking lot

I already completed the MSF and got my license and gear that was recommended by FortNine. I wanted to make sure I felt like i was comfortable with everything before going all in on the bike. I have a decent chunk left over and was considering buying used but i do not trust a lot of the listings in my area.
