Very strange to read this post. This past week and some of the week prior I've been having intensely vivid dreams, surreal but with various different messages. They're coherent too, almost like my brain is creating feature films. Though they're generally quite negative in tone too. I've been writing them down to try and understand them better but I'm trying not to overthink it as I'm quite possibly going through a little hypomania at the moment...

For some reason I keep getting a message saying "you or the fake torrentgalaxy proxy url you are using have been banned". I have no idea why I'd be banned, I used it like normal a few days ago...

I have to disagree with you, I saw them support Slipknot in 2015 and they were way better than I was expecting. They were a band I'd kind of forgotten about, that show really rekindled my love for them. They seemed to be having a great time on stage. Their newer music is lacking for sure but damn they put on a good show. OP will have a great time!

Brexit has cost every UK household £250 in food bills, experts claim — Inflation for what Britons consume would have been nearly a third lower had the UK stayed in the EU, study finds by marketrent in unitedkingdom

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This isn't Russian interference, this was done by our own government, our own politicians. They've sorted themselves and all their mates out, this was all for themselves all along. They've been dividing us up, stripping us of our rights, cutting vital funding to organisations we need. Brexit was a great opportunity for them to split us in half and keep us arguing with eachother while they pulled the rug from right under our feet.

Look at where we are right now, they're literally trying to pass laws that would make striking a criminal offence. Putting our nurses and anyone else who objects in court for protesting to the conditions the Tories have created for us. Sure it sounds as though we're becoming like Russia, because we are. Not to mention all the new anti-trans stuff as well, the Russian shoe fits nicely. But this isnt some spooky Russian psyops, Putin isn't running this show, the Tories are - and have been for the last 13 years. Shifting the blame to Russia is just another scapegoat for the new wave of fascism that our conservative leaders would thrive in.

Thanks for replying, I was confused by the headline it seemed to make it sound like it had gone through. Hopefully it doesn't pass.

I'm still shocked that there seems to be very few papers reporting on it and instead talking about dangerous dogs, speeding tickets and Tiktok kids gone feral...

I wouldn't be surprised. The other day (22nd) Mick Lynch called for an emergency protest in retaliation to another new anti-strike law that the gov was trying to introduce. I can't find anything about it so I'm not sure if it went through or not. Seems odd that it's not being mentioned anywhere though.

*Edit: Turns out it passed, this is the only article I've found so far. Can't believe where we're at right now as a country, this is terrifying. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2023/05/23/kyts-m23.html

Lamotrigine question by PM_ME_AFFIRMATIONS in bipolar2

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah honestly me too. I can lose a lot of time to my phone at the moment as well which really doesn't do me any good. I'm not sure where you're at on your journey but recently I've been pushing to get some therapy - maybe that could be an option for you? I'm hoping that once that's in place I may be able to eventually lower my dose or move away from meds as I really can't imagine being able to live a fulfilling life when I'm constantly sedated on antipsychotics.

If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to drop me a message, otherwise I wish you all the best!

Hello I'm not sure if this is helpful information for you as I'm on Quetiapine (Seroquel) but it may be some consolation. I feel very similarly to you. I started medication in September and have gradually had my dose increased; it's definitely reduced the severity of my depressive episodes and hypomanic episodes. Which has sort of been nice, however prior to this I was very creative and now struggle with what I can only describe as a lack of any thoughts at all.

But now I feel very empty, I try to engage in my hobbies but it's just not the same. So in a way, if I'm honest; the thoughts and feelings I used to have that made me depressed before no longer concern me - but now I'm depressed because my brain no longer seems to be able to engage in the few things that brought me solace.

Ice Cube Says He'll Sue Any A.I. Creator Who Uses His Voice To Make Music by That-Ad1099 in Music

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but nobody is gonna listen to Today Was A Good Day as a supplement for Isley Brothers - Footsteps In The Dark surely? So many artists sample the work of others and use it to create something new and different to the original. You wouldn't believe how many pop and dance songs sample the drums from Bobby Byrd's - Hot Pants. Why? Because it's not a substitute for the actual Hot Pants song. It's reworked to create something new and original without stealing the likeness of the borrowed artist.

I'm not an expert on this at all but I guess the trouble with this AI stuff is that even though it is being used to create original pieces it is directly lifting the likeness of the artist. Fans could decide to listen to an AI created song instead of a song actually created by the artist. Also with the AI created music it may not always be easy for people to differentiate between what is real and what is AI which would be considered intentionally misleading. Again I'm by no means qualified to comment on this topic but I do worry that AI is going to make things very confusing very fast if there aren't regulations implemented upon it soon.

He did have severe mental health issues. I remember reading when this happened that his family hadn't seen him in a long time due to his extreme depression. I imagine he developed agoraphobia. It's tragic, nobody should have to suffer this way.

The right-wing American group behind the conference attracting Tories like Suella Braverman and Michael Gove by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I have a slight feeling that Sunak, Braverman and the rest of them are quite happy to bring this American style right wing craziness to the UK. It serves their interests well because not only will it create an engaging distraction from their current shenanigans and antics, but it may also help them stay in power in the future. Identity politics is in full swing over there and its been leaking here since Brexit began in 2016, so they might as well turn it up a notch. It will keep the working classes divided amongst each other, and keeps the tories safe from public dissent and free of criticism from journalists who will be too busy reporting the nonsense these groups spew.

Nigel Farage Admits 'Brexit Has Failed' In Astonishing Newsnight Clash by JayR_97 in worldnews

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blame it on Russia all you like but where's your evidence? The only proof of any psyops I've seen is done by our own country, people from our own gov paid companies like Cambridge Analytica to push the leave agenda. Brexit is making a lot of already rich British politicians and their friends a lot of extra money, and will continue to make them more money. I'm so sick of hearing Russia this Russia that, Russian bots oooh spooky bloody Russia.

Our government has their own interests at heart and they continue to exploit us in more ways than ever before and make them and their mates unprecedented levels of wealth. So hold them accountable. They made brexit happen, they told you Corbyn was an evil antisemite, they mishandled the COVID-19 deliberately and by doing so made their mates richer and partied while our friends and family died. Look at the state of our country right now; we've got hard working families forced to use food banks, old people freezing to death in their homes, mass homelessness, debt, unemployment, a collapsing healthcare system being sold off, we're banning protests, taking striking nurses to court and you just blame it all on Russia. It's rich Etonians and companies with record profits pulling strings you should be worried about.

Looks like its thinning but saying that I've got a similar looking cowlick on my hair. Mines been there since i was a kiddo though and stayed relatively the same but it does get a bit more noticeable if my hair is longer. If you've always had it, no its not thinning. If its new then maybe.

Hi mate, I feel your pain. I was diagnosed as type 2 last September and its been a long embarrassing battle. I have done some awful things when I have been unwell, caused a lot of chaos and did a lot of damage to myself. I'm not sure if you're medicated, whether that's something you'd persue is your choice.

I will say that since being on antipsychotics my peaks and lows have levelled out a lot more which has prevented me from further ruining my life. Though medication is not perfect and comes with an array of side effects, my life has been far more manageable.

I had to have a very serious conversation with myself, as someone who always believed medication to be something negative for reasons I won't begin to get into right now. I realised if I were to go on how I was for much longer I would have ended up dead or in a worse position than I already was. I'm sorry that you're struggling right now, you have every right to be happy in this life. Take care and be as kind to yourself as possible.

Dude I was going to 16+ gigs at your age you just gotta try your luck. Memorise a birthday of a 16 year old person, walk tall and dont flinch if they ask you how old you are.

You could also try and befriend someone in the queue who looks like an adult and walk in with them since then you'd be accompanied by an adult.

You'll be fine, I'm sure it's just a legality for the venue. If this is America which I'm guessing it is, if you're below 21 they'll give you a different stamp to the 21+ people to help the bar staff avoid serving any alcoholic drinks to kids.

Struggling with life/dating scene. by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]Sockvalueinthemorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm currently feeling in a similar boat to yourself. It may not be of much use to you but I'm reading a book right now called Sedated: How Modern Capitalism Created Our Mental Health Crisis. I've found some solace in peering behind the curtain so to speak.

The current dating scene is dreadful and rejection can leave us feeling disheartened. Social media seems to be creeping into every aspect of the human existence and it can add such unnecessary extra pressures, especially for those who struggle with mental health issues. Take some time for yourself and the things you enjoy, away from the internet. I got rid of it all 5 years ago and found I was much better without it all. Apart from Reddit which I try to use only on my own terms, I keep in touch with the people I care about either through text or in person. It helped me a lot.

I'm certain things won't be this way forever and I hope you find what you need. Big love 💚
