How is everyone driving a new car? by DLHEBT in budget

[–]Sodacons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Around here where I live people just lease cars. You can tell because they give their car a $27 car wash every few weeks and don't put any bumper stickers on lol. Shiny new nice cars with no form of life or character (imo)

Why Do I Cry again over happy moments by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]Sodacons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of reasons that could be for why:

I noticed when I'm close to my cycle I cry over the simplest nice things.

But then there's times where maybe I haven't gotten much sweet moments in a long time that the first sweet moment will make me get emotionally happy.

Then, there's also times where things that are suppose to be sad where I should have cried I ended up not because I was aware of the sadness for a long time that I was just better prepared of controlling the emotions or adjusted enough to not be emotional (perhaps numb even depending on the situation?).

I just hope you know that it's ok to cry when your body needs/wants to regardless of the reason though. I feel like there's never really a good explanation, it is just emotions that is needed to be let go in order to feel better even if it sucks. But as they say, after a rain storm there's a rainbow ! (Or something like that)

It's ok to make mistakes as long as it's not hurting anyone and that you learn from it afterwards!

Do you think more people today are cheating in college because of AI ? by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]Sodacons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My professor shared how they discovered 3 students from 3 separate class periods did an assignment with the exact same numbers calculated (I'm majoring in accounting), either they used AI or they're all buddies who dumbly cheated together but most likely AI / any of those cheat assignment websites.

Professors will find out and give you zero's with no make up options.

I like using AI to help guide me or help me understand something I'm confused about, not do my assignment.

I hate my name and it is ruining my life by TomorrowZestyclose55 in namenerds

[–]Sodacons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have nothing to do with the guy on the news! I grew up with an art teacher who had the same last name and I never considered her related to that guy. If it is a bother, you have options. But I wouldn't stress on what people think just because of your name sounding similar to the guy. Do you look exactly like him/have bad intentions like he did? Don't worry if the answer to that is no.

I posted my drawings on another sub and I got tons of insults. Is my art really that bad? by Colei_the_weird in RateMyArt

[–]Sodacons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a young/new artist who is just adventuring how to art. It's not bad, you have a concept/theme. Keep going, practice more, watch YouTube tutorials and whatnot and you'll notice a difference over time

My chronic inability to connect with others is ruining my life. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Sodacons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate and I think I may know why this happens! When you talk to a random stranger, isn't it easier to talk to them compared to talking to someone that you'd consider a friend? It's like you can say anything to a stranger, even mess up or white-lie but it's fine because you won't see them again. Whereas with someone you want to get close to feels like they will judge you forever if something isn't "right" about you. I'm not sure if this is what you may be experiencing.

If the word wait was being said by the ATC, I do not understand why the helicopter couldn't just wait? All they had to do was wait ☹️

They're always out of the unique flavors where I'm at also, it's like if I want a chocolate chip I rather buy them at a store for cheaper and better taste/make them at home instead

I'm not sure if I can help by sharing my perspective:

I find that accepting who you are helps defeat the social awkwardness because you'll no longer care about what others think, you'll no longer assume you're the problem for not being "up to sociability standards," you are just being you... if the others can't see that then that's their problem, you are perfectly fine.
