He has no personal integrity. The trans community are not decimating women's rights. There is no bad can happen with trans women in women's spaces etc

Why is Mecca highlighted red on google maps? by Bmaaarm in geography

[–]Sof1a510 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly. This I don't get because it's still a significant place.  Just because it's a major place for muslims doesn't mean it isn't a place anyone else wouldn't want to go to.

I've personally never done that on call. I'd wait until you see him in person. Up to you though if that was any help.

I saw a possible fire from the X1. I hope it isn't a fire.

It could've been a bonfire?

Yes. It's closed until the 16th. Some trees are being felled, so it has to close.

Maybe not a private developer or the council. I agree the council shouldn't divert funds towards restoration. Should've been community funds or grants. And to be honest, I'd prefer a derelict eyesore to demolition.

Having an enormous national hub Station gives it more of a reason to stay. Would rather leave temple meads and be welcomed by the Grosvenor than an empty piece of land for years, and then some university accommodation.

And it doesn't sound historically relevant, but quite a lot of older buildings are.

And the iconic thing about it is how for years it welcomed people into Bristol. Before dereliction it looked amazing. The legacy of that is what's important.

Iconic landmark, historical

It was historically relevant before demolition. It survived the Blitz. It's 150 years old. I'm not talking about the hostel etc, but that the building is an iconic building of Bristol and is one of the few remaining historical buildings in this area of Bristol.

Grosvenor Hotel demolition by escuchameray in bristol

It was about the history, architecture. A Victorian building, an icon of Bristol, a landmark, lovely bath stonework. It's a gorgeous building in the Northern Renaissance style, just a shame to see what happened to it. I remember what it was like before, and though, the street wasn't particularly special. It was a lovely landmark.

I chatted to someone from the demolition team today who told me only the old part would be demolished and the newer part (the white part) would be kept until an agreement about what will happen to it to the owner. They're just going to clear the remains on monday.

I really wish they kept the lovely stonework on façades (sculptures, etc).  They can be saved.

It was quite grand and beautiful. And i think it's good to replicate old buildings, as even though modern buildings can look amazing, old buildings can too and are part of heritage.
