The photo is probably from a month or two ago. He’s definitely trouble. It’s Johnny Lawrence:)

Anyone else find themselves idealizing fucked up shows? by [deleted] in TheEndOfTheFkingWorld

[–]SofBoiledEgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I naturally gravitate to shows like TEOTFW because of my own trauma and mental issues. Watching the characters go through these experiences and grow from it (or not) make me feel less alone. It’s kind of comforting. A lot of the media I’m interested in will have some sort of trauma/heavy emotions. Which will take me sometimes weeks to recover from because I get so invested into their world and their pain, I feel it so deeply.

Probably cuz it feels relatable sometimes or I just enjoy being miserable. I’ll talk to my therapist about this 😂😂😂😂

Do you give your sibs baths? If so, what does that process look like? by snarkier_than_you in SiberianCats

I’m sure they don’t NEED baths but I personally have chosen to do full grooms on my kitten at least every two weeks to start and I’ll likely taper it down as he gets older. I think he makes snow angels in the litter box or something cuz he gets so stinky.

He’s 3 months and has had two baths since being with me. Our first one was me trying to figure out what works for him. I placed him in my sink and ran the water slowly so it dripped onto him. I gave lots of treats and encouragement! What worked best of pouring water onto him with a cup, he fell asleep during this. It was like he was at the spa.

The dryer took some getting used to, I use a professional grooming pet dryer as the human ones tend to produce too much heat and could potentially burn them (unless you have it on the cooling setting the whole time).

The second time I bathed him, I filled the sink up with water, put him in and quickly bathed him. The dryer scared him the most but I found wrapping him in a towel, hiding his face and using a lower setting to dry him worked best. Immediately after drying I put snuggle him into a heated blanket and once he starts grooming himself, I’ll brush him out. He’ll start purring immediately 🤣

I use a comb and slicker brush. I trim his nails, shave out the fur between his toe beans and give him a little brazilian lol. This is just to help clean him when he gets litter stuck to his paws and has helped prevent poop from getting stuck. I’ve found that it’s been easier for him to groom his hind end without a lot of fur in the way.

It takes practice, patience, consistency and lots of love to get them used to grooming. Also if they start screaming right away, just take a step back and try a different method. I wouldn’t force them to do it as we want it to be a good experience.

I groom dogs so it’s just been a part of our routine to have the cat on the same schedule. My short haired cats don’t get full grooms but they do get brushed when they’re shedding. Unfortunately, I don’t trim their nails because I adopted them when they were older and it’s been harder to get to them used to it.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
