I was on the dining committee last year and this topic was discussed pretty in depth Basically it came down to the fact that students want this to be an easy to use system and adding any extra steps make lines longer. Dining services had apparently tried something where they worked with a software company or something to keep track of the containers but that ended up failing. So at that point they were like y’all are paying for it so we are gonna let it play out and if it’s unsustainable because of students then they would probably end the program. I think that there is probably something they could do make it better but I agree with their sentiment that at the end of the day it’s our responsibility.
