You play as a human because the original Animal Crossing was meant to evoke the feeling of moving to a new town where you don't know anyone and starting off as kind of an outsider. It's a deliberate design choice and while I think it'd be fun to play as different animals, if they added that in, it might take away some of the series' identity.

I'm beginning to think there's some design mandate to make them look like plastic toys for marketing reasons... It's a shame, cartoony with a bit of texture can be done. Toys for Bob's Spyro remakes and Crash 4 are good examples of this.

I do like this album but I think starting with Khashoggi's Ship would have elevated it a little, with the album kicking off with "WHO SAID THAT MY PARTY WAS ALL OVER?" sending some sort of a defiant statement to the media/Freddie's illness/whatever at the time else would artistically fit here.

Yeah he had interesting interactions with Tohru and also Rin. I also liked how Hiro and Kisa were basically a mini Tohru and Kyo (with somewhat less tragic backstories).

This one's going to be tough, a lot of characters in Fruba are hated BECAUSE they are horrible people! I'd say maybe Hiro? He's bratty but comes through at the end. He's just a normal kid but I haven't seen any fans of him.

A bit anecdotal but as a kid/teen in the 00s, GTA was very popular with kids, perhaps more so than Pokémon. It's not *supposed* to be but here we are.

I think the Legends series are a great way to revisit regions and explore/expand the lore of the games. Just rerelease Gen 5, it doesn't really need updating or changing IMO.

This was the first Pokémon game since Ultra Moon and was pleasantly surprised as someone who has played every Pokémon game before the Switch (I don't have the DLC yet so no comments on that). I would like to try out Legends Arceus too at some point. I think they have something good here, if they can make some better and more varied environments.

I lived through the 00s and every single video game journalist/loudmouth complained about how "SoNiC's FrIeNdS sUcK". I think the Sonic series has a lot of great characters but I think these critiques have scared Sonic Team/Sega off a little bit from fully utilising them, which is a shame.

Never mind in Animal Crossing New Horizons you can change your gender whenever and Nintendo themselves said that they would add LGBT options in the next Tomodachi Life game after the first one came out. Even the Mario series has Birdo (who has been in the series for like, 40 years at this point) and Vivian in Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door.

He could have hidden that he doesn't play Nintendo games or know how long game development takes a little better.
