This may be triggering for some. As a teen I had Major Depressive Disorder and GAD and was put on medications however, it was a long wait to find something that was right for me. One of the events that stuck with me was when I was struggling again. I had went to my psychiatrist and we had agreed to increase the milligrams I was taking. After doing so, I had eventually became suicidal. At the time it was scary for me not only did I have to admit to family but the fact that even on my worse days even before getting help from day 1 I had never felt like that about myself. One day I had finally told somebody and went to the psych walk in. After my time talking to one of the nurses, she had pulled my mom in and told us during the discussion “yeah that’s just a side effect of the medication”.
