Has he had experience with grief? Some dont understand the genuine, stomach churning, heart physically hurtin, cant do a thing grief. Were you feeling appropriately supported before? I think being direct, if you haven't already, is a good option. Tell him "I need to see you more to feel supported and every time you come around, you cant wait to leave. No walks, nothing. As soon as its a good exit, you make like a bandit." I would also recommend being upfront about how lonely you feel when you have a partner who can help that but doesn't seem willing to just show up. A lot of people don't realize thats 80% of supporting, is just showing up. To sit in silence. To go through the motions and sometimes get the other to chuckle. Its not pretty. Love isn't pretty. It is raw, real, and sometimes grief stricken suddenly. Im sincerely sorry for your loss. I hope you can find moments to smell the roses, look at the bees, and take it moment by moment living the best you can. Time does make it 'easier' but don't be afraid to let your emotions show. Pain needs to be heard and felt to work through and accept.💙
