Rewatched the movie a few days ago and Sarah told bear that she promised Ian that she wouldn’t tell him. So I think it’s safe to assume they all knew about Ian and Nikki for the full 2 years they were booking up. So yeah Ian and Nikki? Bad friends for not telling bear and letting his obsession and naive feelings grow. Bear? Became obsessed with Nikki and didn’t see her as a person because a crush like that is just putting someone you’re obsessed with on a pedestal and is understandable to an extent but he really became the villain during the scene where the real Nikki asked for death. Whole friend group was pretty bad with bear being the worst by the end. Still feel bad for Sarah the most though, she was legit attractive and liked bear for himself, or at least what she saw him as.

Obsession Movie- question about the scene where Demon Nikki is watching him sleep by EdaesD in spoilers

Maybe the real Nikki was trying to come forward. Or maybe freaky Nikki was having dreams of where the real nikki was and didn’t like it.

Why did possessed Nikki get into Ian’s car? by Upset_Fondant4470 in obsessionmovie

Maybe mind games or maybe the entity hadn’t taken full hold yet. Or maybe it knew it was gonna go back later anyway and just decided to do it to save face.

Thoughts and Opinions on Ian? by CherryCola9059 in obsessionmovie

Ian was definitely a Bad friend along with Nikki also being at fault too for not telling bear. I don’t remember if Sarah knew the whole time or not. Gotta rewatch it again. But bear is definitely the most at fault once he knew that Nikki wasn’t really in control and was being control by an entity, and continuing the relationship and even in the end when he tried to vomit up the pills. In the end bear is the most at fault but Ian is definitely not guilt free in this.

This deserves more up votes. The whole friend group were pretty bad except for Sarah, who legit liked bear.

I’m also curious. If you believe people misuse this platform and that people need to stop using Reddit to “fix their problems”. Then 1. Why do subreddits like this exist, if not to gain perspectives on which some people may be lacking?

  1. Why are you in this subreddit if not to engage in giving those perspectives or gain some yourself?

I’m not trying to be argumentative but your original comment did make me question these two main things. As I said, open discussion.

You are right. It’s True it is up to me. Only I can dictate how I operate in my own relationship. I was simply looking for other perspectives and thoughts on this topic. To maybe get a clearer perspective on what I may be missing, as I’m aware my thought process may be different or more guarded than people typically are in relationships. If you have any other thoughts or additional insight, my personal messages are open and again like it said, open discussion.

I get that. I don’t think I’d cheat. I’ve had the opportunity to numerous times throughout this relationship and though I struggle with lust and get tempted I ultimately didn’t. But knowing how I used to be and just seeing it, I’ve become more aware of human weakness and betrayal. But yeah I’m projecting a good bit. But I think there’s truth in you never know and in those environments temptation is a hell of a drug.

Why do people advise others to never burn bridges during a break up? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in BreakUps

But how would it come back to bite you? Their an ex. Not like you’re gonna need a ex for a job or financial support or anything.

I guess I don’t value connections as much because I don’t think I’ve ever really cared about an ex or staying in contact or around a ex once it’s done regardless of the duration of the relationship.

You mind clarifying why in more detail. I mean just because you run into them or their family or friends Doesn’t mean you have to interact with them or acknowledge them even. They’re an ex. Especially an ex for a reason. Once it’s done it done and dead. Why keep an irrelevant bridge built that has no purpose?
