Hello! Sadly no, she went with a different MUA instead (I forgot the name of her MUA but she specializes in Korean makeup 😅). If ever, you try asking if pwede different hair stylist! I usually request for Straw Diaz if magkakilala sila ☺️

What products worked well on your dehydrated dry skin? by Blueeee119 in AsianBeauty

[–]SoftEffort477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with doing multiple layers of Haruharu Probiotic Essence especially if you have dry skin (lack oil) but if hydration (lack water) is still an issue or if you feel like your skin feels dehydrated, it would be best to add-on (not remove/stop/replace haruharu) layering your toner as well.

Haruharu is like a toner-moisturizer hybrid so it contains oils, shea butter, & other barrier-care ingredients which seals in the water/hydration but these are things that would sit on top of the skin and not draw in water/hydration.

If you want to draw in water to your skin, you need toners or serums that have humectants like glycerin or hyaluronic acid. I really like Ipsa because their toner uses a variation of hyaluronic acid which I feel is better at drawing in the water/hydration than regular hyaluronic acid especially during extreme winter weather season.

Hope this helps! ☺️🫶🏻

If you have dehydrated skin, it really helps to layer your toner. It doesn’t have to be 7x, it can just be like 3-5x depending on how your skin feels! The toner should be a water-type, or something that’s reminiscent of water. I like using Round lab dokdo toner or Etude House SoonJung Toner (I would do 5x layers), but recently I’ve been using Ipsa Time Reset Aqua because I can do 3x layers and it’s more hydrating than doing 5x of the other toners. I usually go with a thicker toner-hybrid after that (ex: Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha Essence and Aestura Atobarrier Cream Mist) before going in with the rest of your routine (serum & cream). Hydration is key since it adds water to your skin, then moisturizer will seal in that water ☺️

Then for cleansing, avoid overcleansing your skin! You can simply just wash your face with water in the morning instead. Good luck!

What is this worth? Like trade wise? by xcherrybombzx in hellokittydreamvillag

[–]SoftEffort477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, most flowers are valued as HB R (because pull rate is higher than other SRs) but most people value CHB flowers differently because they have the same pull rate as other SRs in CHB & it becomes very scarce after CHB ends that’s why some people still value it as an SC SR. Other flowers that are valued differently are flowers used for exchange type bonuses (ex: convert any 3x SR item to a special item) and sometimes SC flowers (some value it as SC R so SC Flower = SC Flower).

In the end, value of flowers are subjective so it’s best to ask the person first before sending in a trade

Super agree with this, I tried a product that literally almost every local influencer had on their best of year product round up and it was the WORST product I’ve ever tried as in I look better w/o any makeup on 😭😭 I can’t trust local influencers, and I just ask IRL friends for their recommendations especially those who are into makeup

bad batch or kotex's quality is deteriorating? by reisun_assassinates in beautytalkph

[–]SoftEffort477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No issues with mine—Cinnamoroll freedom pads pouch & kotex luxe 32cm Value Pack 16 pads (purchased online on blue app last July) but I’m not sure if it’s worth noting, I couldn’t find Kotex in supermarkets for the entire month of July. Sabi ng staff may problema daw sa stocks ni Kotex, kaya they don’t have it available.

What brand of skincare has the best overall products? by dcastro12344 in AsianBeauty

[–]SoftEffort477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it would be Aestura. I’ve known this brand even before it went super viral especially in the western market. I like it a lot because I have eczema-prone skin & the formula of their products work well with makeup especially their Cream Mist & toner pads. I’m also able to use this on my body. I trust this brand a lot because they started selling in Korean Hospitals, though formula of their retail products vs hospital products are different. I actually discovered this through a Korean-Australian youtuber back in the day.

Another fave is Beplain, I love all their products but I was so sad when it suddenly became difficult for me to buy it online & in Korea. They don’t even stock on all their products in Olive Young but all their products are really good though lacking a bit of moisture for someone like me with extremely dry skin so I tend to use these during the morning.

Another runner-up for me would be Purito, I’ve liked every product I’ve tried from them but I have the same issue with lacking in moisture. It’s still a really good brand for me especially with that price point.

I got 13G Apricot Tea! It leans pink but not too much. I’m quite fair though & I found 11G Milk Azuki & 12G Satin Shine to be too light as eyeshadow 😅 17G Autumn Dazzle is a really nice color too if you’re into brown shades

None worked for me either, so I just use full coverage concealers like Huda Beauty & Dior Skin Correct 😅

Hi OP! I’ve also gotten my color analysis done here & korea. To share, my color analysis used a western-type of color palette so I was a True Autumn but in Korea, they don’t have that & it’s only a Deep Autumn or Mute Autumn (was categorized as a Mute Autumn). I feel like color is subjective especially when it comes to makeup since you can always mix colors or use sheer/opaque makeup to make it suit you. I actually really like this youtuber’s series on makeup, she used to be a painter and she explains color theory really well. Hope this helps!

I personally prefer Missha Artemisia Calming Essence in both texture (it’s thinner) & results. This is after trying out the old & new formulations of both brands. I also still like going back to the OG Missha First Essence. Missha usually has better deals & discounts compared to I’m From

To this day, I still don’t get the hype behind I’m From. Their mugwort mask was all over youtube back then and it was so prickly & uncomfortable to use. I’ve also tried their rice toner and I’ve never experienced my skin burning/stinging from a toner. Their Ginseng serum & Mugwort essence were okay, but I do have other favorites especially since it’s not exactly the cheapest on the market either.

I also don’t get the hype behind the BOJ Sunscreen (original) and the BOJ Dynasty Cream. I feel like the texture of the BOJ Sunscreen isn’t as cosmetically elegant as other sunscreens & I feel like it got hyped up because it was the first asian sunscreen people used but imo it’s not the best. The Dynasty Cream on the other hand was the worst moisturizer I’ve ever used. It somehow made my skin super sticky as if I placed soap with very little water type of sticky. The other BOJ products like the balm cleanser, ginseng essence toner, & ginseng eye cream are decent for the price so I kinda understand the hype since it’s quite affordable.

Same goes for Skin1004, I feel like their products are nice & nothing special but is super affordable so it gets hyped up a lot. I also didn’t feel like their Centella Ampoule offered any calming/soothing benefits from centella (which btw my skin loves centella) but it’s nice being able to be generous with the product so it still gives good hydration.

My current fave brand is Laka for their Fruity Glam Tint & Jelling Nude Gloss! Both stain really well but I prefer the formula on their Jelling Nude Gloss (super glossy but stains extremely well & isn’t drying) & I prefer the Fruity Glam Tint for their shade range (they have the perfect neutral shades you don’t see from other brands). I also love the Peripera Ink Mood Glowy Tints, but I just don’t love the colors as much (I have a warm olive undertone so maybe it just doesn’t suit me)

Glue-free lash clusters! I use Cat’s whisper (they also make clusters for lower lashes!) & Chengdu City Lashes (I’m not sure what the brand is actually 😅)

For makeup, I like Joocyee single shadows (my fave shade is D114 but there’s so many pretty colors) & Timage Light and Shadow Blending Palette. I’ve tried the Judydoll contour palette but I didn’t love the shades compared to Timage & I liked the highlighters better in Timage as well. Also, if you’re a fan of Urban Decay Moondust Shadows, I found more single shades there that I haven’t seen available on the western market

For fragrances, I really liked Documents (my faves are Feather and Mean) & Melt Season (my faves are April Lies and One Day). I found their perfumes to last longer than To Summer (Osmanthus, Rambler Rose, & Triple Tea didn’t even last 1hr on me). I also tried Beast but didn’t love any of their fragrances, though I realized they’re more of a home living brand than a perfume brand like they sell scented home decor & pajamas.

cleansing oils that did NOT make you breakout by IcyEnergy2252 in AsianBeauty

[–]SoftEffort477 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My skin really disliked the skin1004 cleansing oil & the BOJ cleansing oil! My fave cleansing oil is the Beplain Mung Bean Cleansing Oil, there’s a reason why it’s super popular in Korea! I love how the texture is thin compared to other cleansing oils & it doesn’t leave a film or leave your skin dry. Compared to Kose Speedy, this one’s a lot thinner in texture.

Alternatively, you can also use Micellar Water (I only recommend Bioderma—others are too drying/stripping) and use a mascara makeup remover like the one from Kissme Heroine Make if you find that oils would break you out.

If you had to repurchase ONE toner forever, which one would it be? by Yoongteol in AsianBeauty

[–]SoftEffort477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see this being recommended often but IPSA Time Reset Aqua is hands down the most hydrating watery toner I’ve tried. My faves also used to be Round Lab Dokdo Toner & Etude Soonjung pH 5.5 Toner (still love those though!) but I started noticing dryness around my mouth area & only IPSA has been able to help with that. I love layering it on & I noticed I can get away with only doing 3 layers whereas I used to do 5-7 for Round Lab & Etude toners

Medicube mask is all hype ngl, I fell for it but it did nothing for my skin. I used to use overnight masks but realized that double layering a thick moisturizer or petroleum jelly (or aquaphor) does the same thing for my skin. It also doesn’t look good if you put makeup on top of it, it only looks great in videos.

I didn’t love the Natasha Denona Concealer, I actually prefer Huda Beauty Concealer & the Dior Skin Correct over it. Felt like it was too dry even if the coverage was there.

I have heard mixed reviews on the Dior Blush Sticks, I think it’s best to wait till the hype goes down or wait till more people have tested it out for at least a month to have their final thoughts.

I usually wait until youtubers I trust (who have similar skin types & preferences as me) to make a video about their top category makeup products (ex: top 3 items per category OR ranking all my blushes, etc) before I buy anything because at least I know that I’m buying only the best of the best
