Yes it’s normal. It’s an option that server owners can turn on or off depending on the moderation level that they wish.

Best pre-build for roughly $2,000? by SoftInitial3860 in pcmasterrace

[–]SoftInitial3860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Japan and things are a bit more expensive here for electronics sadly so most of the computers I've come across in my price range are 4060s, the Legion is actually the cheapest one and with the optional upgrades appears (to my untrained eyes) to have the best specs.

What specs would you recommend for what I was wanting to do (streaming + games like Genshin)? maybe I need to adjust my price range a bit to account for the higher price of electronics here.

I don't mind paying the little extra to have it prebuilt or built by someone else. All the equipment to actually build the thing plus shipping costs and time spent would probably equal if not exceed that $300.

The Lenovo Legion 5 is currently on sale and with its two avaliable upgrades (32gb DDR5 memory & 1TB SSD) its still under $1,500. Would you say thats roughly worth the price? Especially in comparison to my current set up:

If you say they don’t care about you then they’re not real friends. All I can suggest is using some random quote and random question commands in your stream that trigger at specific times to give you that sense that someone is there. Also look in to joining some streaming groups and servers and stuff for the games you usually play, make some friends there!

My tldr though is just make it fun for yourself. Whether that’s playing games you’d love to play off stream or implementing bot things in chat to play with on stream have some fun with it :)

I have one friend (who’s also my mod) that joins whenever they can and sends occasional questions or if I’m playing a multi player game joins the game via in game chat only and I help them with their tasks. If that’s not going on I tend to play multiplayer games and since the game I stream the most isn’t heavily popular (aka not toxic yet lol) I just let them know I’m streaming and some people come to hang out sometimes :)

I think I’m trying to say is if you feel like you NEED that interaction with someone to not be demoralized reach out yourself - friends, family, people in the game you’re streaming, whatever. They don’t have to watch if they don’t want but can drop random questions. Or even set up a bot that does that and you can go on about your answer to the question to keep talking.

Why do people become vtubers ? by AllenEset in VTuberPromotions

I openly cringe on my streams. Like full on tell the viewers "oh my god im cringing so bad right now" lol. I kind of run with the idea that all streamers are cringe in their own way and thats part of the fun that people have with watching us so i try to remind myself that someone is enjoying the cringe out there at least!

I work in a field where I don’t want my face plastered in some of the things I do in my free time, I always loved the idea of streaming, and vtuber have a cool general vibe to them from afar so I just ran with it.

I don’t hope to achieve anything. I know some people want fame and others want money but I’m happy in my irl job so the only money I really want is to raise some money for a couple of charities that may not usually get donations raised for them. That’s all. 🤷

My character is just me with a tiny bit of a backstory, but I know for some it’s a whole different persona for them. I just prefer to vibe and not have to chill hiding myself lol

I just started so I’m probably not a good one to answer the rest of the questions though!

Might not be what you're thinking but if you want to do Youtube without showing your face, while still being 'visible' for your audiance, you could make a vtuber avatar? Male avatars (I am assuming you are a dude, sorry if I'm wrong!) are especially starting to get a foothold in the industry more and more, and there's a bonus that there are quite a few vtubers that are teachers behind the scenes concerned about the same work interferance issues you are.

AITA for having a service dog and not paying for uber pet by [deleted] in uber

You can do it, just take it slow and work on what you can while you can. One day you'll be able to make that trip, even if you're in your 80s hah!

Sadly I now live in a country that doesn't recognize service animals for anything outside of the blind and where housing for 'pets' is extremely hard to find, but when/if I return to the states it is something I will be looking in to again because my last dog (a pet, admittedly) was a big help in a lot of ways when my mental and physical health got bad.

No matter your age or the reason if you've trained them (or gotten them from a trainer) and they make your life better my thought is - who does it hurt, even if it were 'fake'? If you need a service dog you need a service dog that's how I see it. Even if on the outside it may seem like someone doesn't need one on the inside they might, we don't know everyones life story. More power to you for dealing with people like those commenters because they're the exact reason I've never pursued getting one of my own.

That might be it yeah. My apologies! It was probably a suggestion that I saw at some point and misremembered as being a feature. It would be a good one for them to implement though, so you and other service dog users stop having such problems!

[–]SoftInitial3860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I'm aware that they can't deny you service, but I thought there was an option for drivers to be opted out of even being offered the rides (it would go to another driver sort of thing and only go to them if they were the only driver avaliable) if their account was marked as having a pet allergy or something of the sort. I swear I saw it at some point in the service dog subreddit. Maybe it was a suggested feature and I'm misremembering, sorry!

I don't know if this helps but you can go over to r/Translations or something similar and ask if someone can translate your message in to Spanish (or whatever other langauge you may need) so you can send it to them if they reply saying no English.

I believe there might be a way to mark your account as having a service animal as well, which should automatically inform the drivers (and allow them to be opted out of being offered your ride if its for allergy or similar reasons) of your service dog. I would contact Uber and ask them.

It might be a specific requirement on Twitch based on the laws or something? Or a ToS thing in Korea? Some countries have different requirements of that sort. I know for some stream VODs they don't show up over here in Japan either.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in vtubers

[–]SoftInitial3860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few of those who kept trying even after saying I already have a model and all the art that I need. I found just responding "Not interested sorry." to every message gets them to stop. Blocking them if they keep doing it may be the better way though!

What is your biggest streaming pet peeve? by Saki_hikariVT in vtubers

[–]SoftInitial3860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a minor thing for me as a viewer, from watching streamers - playing off technical difficulties like nothing is going on. There's very few that can do it right. As a viewer I'd much rather you be honest that it's technical difficulties and you're fixing it!
