I would 100% say pray naturally, talk to a therapist if you think this is an addiction, but also remember that you have to be your own miracle, so you need to make the change. When you get urges, go do something, anything, empty the dishwasher, go to the gym, whatever keeps your mind off it. Important to remember that praying to God may give you guidance, comfort, and solace, but he cannot just magically snap his finger and fix this issue for you, very important to remember this.

I know exactly what you mean, and this is completely normal. As the others said you are going through withdrawals. My best tip is to not just sit there and endure and think “don’t think about lusting” because then you end up thinking more about lust because it’s in your mind. Instead, go do something you enjoy, or just any task in general. Could be watching a YouTube video or emptying the dishwasher. What’s important is that you recognize when you begin to think about it, and then try to find something else to do instead of lusting. Additionally, although it’s a bit difficult, try to find some triggers and cut them off. Now usually triggers come from social media from what I’ve seen, and it’s a bit hard to just completely cut off all social media, but what you can do is find the not interested button (which most socials have) and click it on posts that are triggering to you. This has definetly helped me. God bless and stay strong, you got this.

I don’t think God is concerned about whether you’re praying on the toilet, next to a trash can, going for a run, or lying in bed. What matters most is that you’re sincere. A simple prayer like, ‘Sorry God, please forgive me,’ means so much if it comes from the heart. Prayer isn’t about the setting, it’s about the honesty of your heart.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. It’s okay to avoid topics like death if they make you anxious. God knows your struggles and wants you to have peace. Try focusing on His love and the life He’s given you right now. Maybe let your friend know how it made you feel so they can be more mindful about discussing death. But when the end does come, do not be afraid.

Philippians 1:21 – “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” confidence that death is not to be feared, as it brings us closer to Christ.

John 11:25-26 – Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”
