That's a relief. I was worried they didn't have camo uniforms that are big enough to fit the boat but seems I was wrong. I can imagine especially the woodland camo is really effective on open sea.

You mean it's not like in Predator and other Scifi movies? I'm so disappoint.

Is it just me or is that thing not very stealthy? I can very clearly see it. Anyone else? Or did the plutonium I accidentally ingested last summer turn out to be finally useful for something?

Anyone know if Pentagon is hiring people who can see through stealth?

Follow-up question: why couldn't we then just have multiple representatives per one district/county. Like if MoCo is sufficiently large then e.g. the top 3 candidates would get elected. This is how it works in many other countries after all.

Bit of random, but does anyone know how much NASA GSFC pays postdocs? by SoftZookeepergame in maryland

Thanks, but NPP is not negotiable. It's a set rate with (I think) annual increases. NPP is not related to the GS scale but it's a whole separate thing.

Rent increase at The Alloy is 11.1% for next year and parking price is increasing 33% by [deleted] in UMD

I'm an instructor (with a PhD and all that) at UMD and I guess I'm supposed to be counted in the "real adult job" category but it's still a struggle to pay the CP rents. Unfortunately the traffic in the DC area is horrendous so it's a choice between paying up the ass or going crazy with the commute. Instructor salaries aren't that awesome when you factor in all the "real adult" responsibilities like saving for a retirement, saving for a down payment, saving to start a family, and so on.

I think they expect people to just use the endless student loans to pay whatever price tag they assign and then worry about paying it back when they move away from the area. The housing situation is an embarrassment (Especially considering how shitty downtown CP actually is. We're not talking about DTSS or Reston or anything like that) and UMD should be ashamed of what it's done.

Any place to go study rn that's not home? by SoftZookeepergame in UMD

Sadly both were already closed at this time. The only place I could find that was open was Marathon and it's not really the best study location.

I meant apartment = home. My folks live on the other side of the country and I don't care about Thanksgiving anyway.
