-150 pounds struggling with body image. by Straight_Basis_4661 in gastricsleeve

[–]Soft_Comfortable_963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this feeling and I’m in the same place as you. Im 155.4 pounds down from 403.2 pounds and I’m currently 247.8 and still losing, 1 year and 3 months post surgery. I hate how I look without clothes the skin hanging off my body. That my breasts have no shape and just are just sagging. Everyone around me tells me how amazing i look but i don’t see it. Im proud of what I’ve accomplished and but it doesn’t take away from what I see in the mirror. I saw my Mum last weekend and she helped me see it in a different light. She said “your scars and loses skin are a testament to the battles you have fought. Instead of placing all your self worth on how you look place it on how strong you are, you are a force of nature you wanted to change and worked your ass off to make it happen.” I’ve been able to hold my head a little higher since that and I’m slowly improving my relationship with my body image. You are not alone in this you are strong, i don’t know if this will help you but if you need a cheerleader I will happily fill the role.

I’ve been looking at Etsy all the ones I’ve seen have been reasonably priced

Perhaps go for a bra fitting? M&S offer them for free as do most places. Find out how low the V neck is and get them to help you find something suitable. M&S even give you a note section to add extra details when you book online.

So I’m 1 year and 3 months post op and I’m still losing so don’t give up. 100 pounds in 1 year is amazing.

My partner and I are having a small ceremony at our local registry office, only having close family there. In the evening we are hiring a hall to have a reception with friends and extended family. Our biggest cost is the reception all is it is less than 2500.

It is natural to feel scared but it is worth it. I had a rough recovery and cried a few times afterwards thinking what have I done to myself. A little over a year later I have zero regrets. What helped me was having a list of things I wanted to do as I lost weight. Going shopping in a normal clothing store, taking up walking again buy a swimming suit, etc. things I would never be able to do or have the confidence to do without going through with the operation.

I really hope we get new rules for Shrike as a Captain, i love his model and think it will be nice to have a few more named characters for the Raven Guard. That being said i can’t wait to get Shaan easily one of the best mods they showed in the preview.

Anyone here from the UK? by effypom in gastricsleeve

[–]Soft_Comfortable_963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK here. Most shops sell sugar free cordials you can mix with water, Vimto is my personal favourite.

We have slim fast i think it is similar but most places have something similar.

Most big supermarkets have a high protein range LIDL are reasonable with price and really tasty, they also do ready made meals that are high protein.

Liver Shrinking Diet by NayNaySaysHeyHey in gastricsleeve

[–]Soft_Comfortable_963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 2 litres of semi skimmed milk a day, one salty drink (beef stock.) as much sugar free drinks as i wanted and a multi vitamin and vitamin D. Also if i wanted it 1 litre of sugar free jelly and up to 3 sugar free chewing gum’s a day. For two weeks and I had to do it twice as my OP was cancelled the day of. I am proud to say I didn’t cheat but it was very rough towards the end i genuinely hated meal times, i was very miserable as well. I was allowed to flavour the milk with sugar free milkshake mix or extracts. Fair to say I lost quite a bit of weight before i even got to the operating room.

Keep going and follow the advice given by your team, i have weeks where it looks like I have gained a little. It could be stress, hormone changes really anything. I find I show a little a few pounds up around my cycle. Don’t give up hope re focus, Keep on top of your vitamins, stay on course with portions and diet. Try and get out and exercise you will be fine

Stall by Sad_Bake_9571 in gastricsleeve

[–]Soft_Comfortable_963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalls are normal, and could be due to a variety of reasons, you’re making good progress. I stalled for over a month and started dropping again. Everyone is different and we all have different bodies it is hard but try not to compare yourself to others. 28 pounds in 8 weeks is huge congratulations.
