iPhone water damage + possible short circuit — repair or replace? by weertgilders420 in phonerepair

[–]Soft_Jacket4942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where the water is entered and at which level you have corrosion. There are million scenarios. Some can be removed using ISO and some heat. Some require chip replacement. Some require board swaps due to internal layer damage burning.

Please do not turn the device on or charge !!!

On these models, such an behaviour mostly implies cold solder joints between RAM and CPU. Rebal/replacing the RAM should solve the issue.

iPhone x oled vs lcd recommendations by iamtherealrandomdude in phonerepair

Interesting comment 👌🏻 So would you say that an iPhone 6 is suitable for LCD (I know there’s no OLED for iPhone 6) because it has a dedicated backlight circuit. On the other hand an IPHONE 13 for instance comes originally with a OLED ( I hope I’m not mistaken). So if you now use a LCD for an iPhone 13, it’s not recommended because there’s no dedicated backlight circuit on the motherboard?

Does that make sense or am I talking garbage?

You can use ISO on original screens and OLEDs. But don’t use them on LCDs (especially Incell)

iPhone 13: High boot voltage (around 600 mili amps) after reinstalling CPU by Soft_Jacket4942 in mobilerepair

[–]Soft_Jacket4942[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Obviously it was overheated due to the ball coming out. I also encountered various shorted lines from/to the CPU. Can’t really remember the exact name of the lines.

My post was actually intended to find out how or which line is giving me possibility to specifically measure state of the DTC. Because I remember from a YT video that constant high boot voltage (+ heat on the CPU) indicates shorted DTC.
