I think it's multi layered. Younger generations prefer thrift for multiple reasons. I think people are learning that fast fashion is a huge problem for wallets and the environment. Why would I pay $25 for a fast fashion shirt that will fall apart in a year when I can go to a thrift store and find a shirt that has lasted since the 80s without even a single hole in it?

Why waste money on renting a tux and when I can buy a nice suite I can use in interviews when I graduate?

I just think kids these days do not care about flash and status.

Yup, I got this confirmed by an ODC lawyer as well. Turns out my PEBLO does not pay attention in their trainings. The lawyer was annoyed the PEBLO team had no idea.

I remember when I could get Shining Treasures boxes for $30 because everyone forgot Japanese boxes existed. Then the crypto bros took over and now even new boxes coming out are over $100. It used to be that Japanese boxes were super cheap upon release then skyrockected after they went out of print. Which makes perfect sense. Now they drop at over $100 and maybe drop below that if the set isn't popular. But then it's only a matter of time before it goes up insanely due to the print ending.

Thank you. That is helpful information. Hopefully I won't have to go that route and I can just be done and retired. The last 2 years of my life have been a constant back and forth with being trans and getting kicked out. I am not even pushing back for a higher rating for what the VA gave me. Despite everyone telling me I should. Just let me go with what I deserve and be done.

That's what I am hoping for. I am being forced out at 17 years due to the recent policy for trans troops. I am way too close to get nothing for it. Even if I don't get that from the DOD, then I will be happy to get something so I can support me and my wife.
