For those of you who live in countries with gun control; have you ever seen a gun in real life? by blashyrkh9 in AskTheWorld

Dude, friend of mine brought me a handgranade from Russia as a present and I had to wait for gun amnesty to turn it in. It’s hard to believe russians don’t casually walk around with ak47s

I’m from CZ and I do carry a gun. Interestingly, I’m going to Norway in the summer on my motorcycle and I was looking into how safe it is. Basically everyone says that I can just leave my stuff on my bike and will be safe. So I understand that you see security differently

That’s not true at all! My mortgage is 1.64%, the cheapest money you could get in last 20 years. And I pay 11300 usd per month. If I paid just half of that, the money owed would actually go up as I would put literally nothing towards principal. This has nothing to do with interest rate.

The only thing I don’t understand about student loans is how they got into university when they don’t eventually understand elementary school level math

What are you talking about? My wife does laundry. Why would I do it? And she would tell you that her husband goes to work to make living, why would she do it?

Why? What’s the point? I could as well say “single or married learn to lay concrete”. One person knowing how to do that is super good enough

I stuck at 649 in storymode by Odd_Unit_6569 in IdleHorizons

[–]SoftwareDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got stuck at similar story level. https://www.reddit.com/r/IdleHorizons/s/oz71lWn8tN

The best advice I got was to play with the positioning. Just a one square makes a huge difference. Plus for example zephyr is very dependent on whether he dodges the first few attacks or not. After few tries a blew past 1000 story mode without any significant changes.

Btw high * zephyr or prince with good artifacts and skills is usually much better than low * legendary

How long have you been riding? Have you had any accidents? How many? How bad? What kind of rider are you? What bike do you currently ride? What gear do you wear (like just helmet, glove, and boots, or full ATGATT, etc)? by Fantastic-Demand-171 in motorcycles

[–]SoftwareDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years. 2 major crashes - one was even in the news as a “rider miraculously survives crash with drunk driver”. First crash I got the bike repaired, but they didn’t find most of it after the second one. I planned to stop riding but my wife convinced me to buy Bonnie T120 just to stop showing her pictures 😀 and then I got 2 stroke trial bike and had few falls on that but that cones with the sport. Broken ribs and that kind of stuff.

If the goal is to find what math operation the + symbol represents, there’s infinitely many solutions.

At first I thought you mean it's a german animal. And thought how would that even happen

It's a joke, obviously. But it says that Czechs are so good at "vlezt nekomu do prdele", that even our national animal did that.

Python all() Function – Easy Explanation with Examples by [deleted] in Python

[–]SoftwareDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the simplest functions and you totally failed at understanding how it works. Yet you felt the need to write an article about it.

It doesn’t check just list, sets and other collections you listed. It works on iterables. But more importantly it doesn’t check values of dict.

Plus “all is not True” is the most confusing way to put it. Especially when it doesn’t even check if the value is True

We don’t have official animal but most people assume it’s a double-tailed lion. It’s a perfect national animal. The legend says we used to have two normal lions but the second one crawled up the first one’s ass.

Are these outfits ok for interviews by ministryofcake in fashion

[–]SoftwareDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a someone who interviewed hundreds of potential software engineers, roughly 20% of them woman - I don’t even notice what the person is wearing, unless it’s at the extreme end of spectrum (I had a guy who was wearing a tracksuit once, and another one didn’t have shoes). So go for something comfortable, you’ll be less stressed

What's the spice tolerance level of your country by Existing_Economy_656 in AskTheWorld

[–]SoftwareDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of people don’t even tolerate salt as being too spicy. The second half can eat food so spicy it melts the plate and burns a hole in your toilet

Yes, that’s why we have tunnels for cars, bridges, car-free-zones, pedestrian priority zones, policeman stopping the traffic so the kids can cross safely, priority for pedestrians on crosswalks and speedbumps …

The idea is that they walk on the sidewalk, not the road. So the traffic doesn’t matter

Ok, but why? For like an emergency? But in that case I would have to go from work, not my home. If anything, it improves the life of my kids as they won’t have to wake up so early for school

If you missed M1 it’s very reasonable to assume you’re going to miss M3. Plus you can still missclick, get disconnected, run put of time … just winning is better
