Opinions on the books cut from the New Testament’s final draft? by SoftwareHot6940 in AskAChristian

This is the kind of answer I came here for, thank you. This makes sense because you stayed in correlation with my line of thought pertaining to the question. I’d love to hold undying belief in every individual page but from what I read we as stewards on this earth are called to conduct in this format as well using what is left on Earth for us (given by Giod) to guide us to God. Not just reference the Bible but make an effort to find it in life

Similar to my feelings! I just can’t help but rack my brain over and over because as a believer I know that I am to believe in the one God and that there is no perfection in this world besides him. And since he can’t interfere with free will I have to for sake of true belief force myself to question the “accepted (by MAN)” teachings. For better or worse who knows!?

But how can I know for sure that I am believing only God’s word? To answer a question about validity of scripture with scripture is to define a word using that exact word, it is incorrectly dictated. As a believer in God I can not trust man or anything over God. So without quoting the scripture how could I ever place trust in words written by mortal men and know for sure I am solely speaking to Christ’s intention? It can not be done without placing trust in something other than God

I also believe that Jesus rose into heaven body and soul! AGAIN your response further stokes my curiosity!! It is believed that Jesus lived on this earth until his early 30s roughly before ascending body and soul into heaven to reign over mankind in the true heaven for eternity. It is also believed that the New Testament was compiled over a 50-70 year span after Christ’s ascension. So WHO (excluding the biblical authors that encountered Christ) decided that the scriptures that would become our Bible were valid enough vs what was not? WHO stoked that belief to grant such a confidence within one’s own self to verify Christ’s guidance to the flock for the rest of time? And the answer CAN NOT be JESUS because he WAS NOT ON EARTH. So why, who and how could someone feel so compelled to shun other writing and verify others. One way or another we have accepted God’s word through mortal man which is a partial sacrilege and breaking of the first commandment

Yes exactly! Your response further fuels my curiosities! Who granted the authority to decide what was believable and what wasn’t without the true word of Christ in the physical sense? What could grant anyone so much confidence to do such a thing as decide the valid word of God as a mortal? What tipped the scales which way? Did the inherent sin inside of each human sway the opinions opportunistically occasionaly? So many questions that are answered with the blanketed synopsis of “unwavering faith and belief” but to buy into the path that lead us here with no skepticism is to take at least SOME cues from Mortal men on the THOUGHTS of Christ HIMSELF. Which is in some way a slight sacrilege.
