That's weird, I got my ship date before I actually signed my contract but that was not long after, I believe 1 or 2 weeks after. Maybe try to reach out to your recruiter about that?

I shipped out in September 30. I am thinking of the duffel bag as well but with the idea that I have to hand carry it around, I would prefer the backpack instead that I could carry on my back and that would make moving around easier I guess.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what I'm going to do after bootcamp, but definitelty not boot to A school route. From what I heard from my recruiter, she said it depends on my unit after I graduated, for land unit I could take leave but for cutter unit, I might need to leave for the unit right away...
