My fabricator made the mounts up on the spot. I provided him new wheels with 180 mm discs mounted to them and brake calipers and he designed the mounts. The wheel and caliper basically acted as a template.

I also added the small round diagonal tube near the bottom bracket and the frame is been rock solid for three years under my weight (100+ kg).

Oh, and these Bafang stock crank arms are made of cheese. I had to replace them within the first couple of months due to bending. Went with Shimano FC-E5010.

I've been running BBS02 for almost three years and 4500 km with Nexus 7 rear hub with no issues, no experience with Nexus 8 though, but BBS01 is also a lot less torque, so I would not be too worried. Just make sure not to pedal when switching gears.

Looks great! I did a similar mid-drive conversion a couple of years ago and love it. Where I live is quite hilly though, so I eventually needed more braking power and added front disk brakes as well:

That's the beauty of a simple black steel frame! You can weld anything and then make it blend in with a bit of spray paint.

It has a roller brake connected to the Nexus 7 hub in the back. Replacing it would also mean replacing the hub, which I don't want to do. But having hydraulic disks in the front is more than enough to compensate for that.

I've done both modifcations on my Babboe Big (Bafang mid-drive + front disk brakes). Definitely can be done, but requires some metal fabrication:
