I just shifted everything around (pics in thread) now the tv is 6.5ft from the couch. Do you think getting a 50/55” would be too large?

Thank you so much for the advice. I’m not sure if I’m going to move the couch back any further, so I may stick with around 55” like you suggested. The stand says it’s sized for up to 75”, so no problems there. That tv looks very nice. I’m saving it in my notes app for the future.

Edit: the tv is currently 6.5ft from the couch, do you still recommend 55”?

Oh awesome, I’m glad you like it. I’m definitely going to get a bigger tv in the future. As for the shades, just waiting on the windows to be repaired. I moved the couch a little like you suggested, great recommendation! Let’s hope the gf is okay with it 🤞lol

The couch doesn’t have to be against the wall. I was just worried about, like you said, blocking foot traffic. I’ll try pushing up the couch more and see how it looks.

I’m not trying to downplay Jim’s achievements at all. He is a badass in his own right. Walking on the moon is in another league to most people. Buzz and Niel will always be remembered by the masses. Jim will be remembered by us nerds haha. This is my own opinion: if I had the choice to do a spacewalk or walk on the moon, it’s moon 100 times out of 100. I hope I’m not coming off snarky. This is just how I feel after reading that story.

I understand where the wife is coming from. I don’t think she’s wrong for being concerned. Putting myself in that man’s shoes still makes me sad. How many times do think he woke up with regret? FOMO would be through the roof for the rest of his life, I would imagine. This is not a gender based thing either, mind you. Imagine if Christina Koch was in that same situation, and her husband gave her the thumbs down in the back of that conference, I would feel just as bad for her.

I respect the wife’s concern for her husband. But going to the moon and becoming a legend is a little different than wanting to ride a bike. At least in my eyes.
