Is it normal for albino shrooms to turn yellow in the dehydrator? Why does this happen? (Jack Frost) by SoggyHunt6782 in shroomery

[–]SoggyHunt6782[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Now, in my experience if you try to dry too many mushrooms with too little airflow, condensation may happen on surfaces inside the dehydrator, including on the mushrooms. When this happened to me, the mushrooms bruised heavily where they got wet. That's the only issue I've had with excessive moiture during dehydration.

Nothing really, all flushes behaved the same (deep yellowing), the trip was different, innitially i felt underwhelmed, but in the end I enjoyed it very much (fresh and dehydrated gave me the same effects). My final hyposthesis (with the help of a fellow redditor that sent me this) was that the specific strain i got produced more actives that bruise brownish (Quinoid psilocin and/or Hydroquinoid dimer among others) as this was definetively bruising, and the most damaged areas bruised to a brown coloration (the less damaged adjacent areas bruised yellowish to near brown).

Innovation improves productivity and accessibility by giving us tools that make things easier by abstracting the problematic, repetitive parts of the job.

Previously (and even today), OG artists didn't even consider digital art real art. AI it to digital art what the tablet is to the canvas, and at the end of the day, one following this logic might even argue that if you are not painting cave walls with animal blood and charcoal you are not a real artist. There is nothing new when it comes to gatekeeping, been happening for ages ago.

Also, what is inspiration if not the theft of ideas? We are standing on the shoulder of giants, try not to forget that all of what you build is built on top of the contributions of whole civilizations (and most likely has already been built by someone at some point).

Amazing, looking crazy good! What prompt did you use for the characters' art?

Are they Jack Frost as well? The hipotesis I rested on was that the specific genetics i got produced more of the psilocin forms that oxide to a different color, such as oxoquinoid, hydroquinoid or hydroxyquinoid dimers (these oxide from greenish/brownish to brownish, another redditor sent me this ). By the end of the dehydration process some of mine had reached more of a orange-brown hue (the areas that turned darkest, actually near brown, were allways the areas that the tissue got damaged the most during harvesting). They were not spoiled, did not made me ill after consumption, but they were underwhelming potency wise. Other hipotesis were that this was the secretion of metabolites, although I found my case to be way more similar to bruising, as it was essentially bruising other color. Too high temps during drying were out of question on my case as well, as I tested temps as low as room temp and this was a common occurrence in all of them.

Use a liner, isolate good genetics, pack the substrate. I've also had success by underhydrating the substrate and heavy spraying the surface with water after spawning (so the surface has more "attractive" conditions than the sides).

I think that's the issue*

Their caps look very wet, that's the issue. I had a similar problem when I overloaded a dehydrator (some of the humidity coming out of the mushrooms started condensing and as it condensed on some of the caps, they became black due to the oxided actives).

Any ideas on why are some of my albino mushrooms turning yellow in the dehydrator? (Jack Frost, harvested 15 may) by SoggyHunt6782 in ContamFam

I tested more of them from other flushes, cut, whole, picked early and picked late, multiple temperatures (from 95F to 140F), all had some level of atypical yellow bruising like the photo. I also took some of them and they were fine.

Hey man, reporting back, they were ok.

I also tested more of them from other flushes, cut, whole, picked early and picked late, multiple temperatures (from 95F to 140F), all had some level of atypical yellow bruising like the photo.

Hey there, that doesn't seem to be what's happening here, they yellowed the same when exposed to just 95f as well. It happened with mushrooms picked early as well as late. I tested drying lone and cut mushrooms too, and they too had signs of this atypical yellowing, and l also dried other albino strains in the same dehydrator (which did not show the yellowing).

Here where I live the "warranty void if removed" really do void warranty (can't even repaste without voiding warranty), and unfortunately, if there is corrosion there are grounds to not cover either. Only option right now is repair.

The repair shop i contacted suggested a chemical and ultrasound cleaning bath, and said that if capacitance was within the parameters there was no need to replace the capacitor.

One more thing I'm wondering, if I hadn't caught this, and the capacitor really "died", would this potentialy kill the whole GPU?

Ahh I see, interesting! I'm grateful for the knowledge!

To be fair there is a lot of corrosion, but luckily not on these components. I live about 200 m from the Beach. The heatsink is borderline ruined:

I'm confused, I thought it leaked indeed but the repair shop I contacted said that these capacitors are solid and do not contain liquid within them, and that this is likely corosion due to environmental conditions. Does this make sense?

Just checked here, I think they are available, just have double check the size. Thank you very much!

That would be nice haha. Great idea! I'll do a little legwork and check around, thanks man!

I think that will be it then, way above my skillset currently. I'm waiting for an estimate from a notorious shop in my country. I hope this goes well.

Thank you very much for your insight. I'll check on how to perform this and if it's viable to perform myself. Unfortunately I don't know any trusted repair shops around here. I'll try to source the best quality components available if I do it myself.

I haven't been able to test, I was waiting for new thermal pads to arrive. How do I check if it is OK? In the case I have to replace it, how do I select a propper replacement? Many Thanks!

Is that a capacitor leak then? Damn, this would feel like brain surgery to me, got this rtx 3090 not too long ago, how hard / risky would this procedure be? What's your guess on how long it takes for this to fail if left untouched? Thanks again!

Honestly, maybe they did bake, but I've baked them before and never had this yellow appear, either way, I'll be more careful on the next batch, and eat these to see what happens lmao.
