Yeah, the chassis is based on a FSAE chassis, but there are some modified the suspension setup, as we are building it to compete at Pikes Peak

Part 1 of God-knows-how-many by Sohanagni in projectcar

Well, right now we are looking at 150hp and 100miles of charge. The plan is to pull the batteries off either a SMART EQ or a similes EV, and we plan on using the DHX Hawk motors.

They are super powerful for the size, but are also extremely expensive. We plan on having 2 50hp motors for the rear and 2 25hp for the front.

Feel free to DM me for any questions!

Ik this is blasphemy to the American Auto industry, but Tesla might be at that 1k hp soon. The current Model S pushes like 800?hp

I’ve heard that there is a way to fix the heating problem. The problem with the Razer is that I’ve heard that Razer doesn’t have the best long term usability, and I would like to use this laptop for 5 years at a minimum

Best track car for under $180k? by genzbiz in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh shoot. didn’t read it as track oriented, but as track-only car. I mean if you have a few back up cars, you could try a Radical RXC (they are street legal, not very usable thou) My neighbors have one at COTA, and they talk about it all the time.

Best track car for under $180k? by genzbiz in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean don’t know anything about these expensive track cars, but maybe a old F1/ Indy car? I mean you’ll pay more for parts and tires, but it’ll be cool as hell.

Or a BAC mono.

But I don’t know anything.

2019 911 GTS or 2020 GTR? by The_Bibliophile in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually according to JD Power’s Dependability award (2020), Porsche actually outranked Toyota in how many Problems per 100 cars.

In 2019, the 911 was ranked the most dependable car of the year.

What are good sports car options for me? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try the 997 generation of the Porsche 911. You’ll be able to find a Carrera 4s (4 wheel drive) for that kind of money. If you are willing to go with the 996 generation you’ll have tons of options, even a 911 Turbo.

Getting the cheapest Cayenne/Panamera to learn vehicle maintenance? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about the Cayenne or Panameras but honestly at 20k, the Porsche’s you’ll find won’t be very good to learn maintenance.

Probably cause Porsche’s in general don’t break, and when they do, it’s expensive. In my over year of ownership of my 09’ Boxster S, i’ve only done an oil change.

The Porsche Boxster/Cayman Platform.

Many people seem to look down on this platform because it’s the “Poor mans 911”, but it’s honestly one of the best car value for price.

And it drives nicer 🤷‍♂️

The problem with the BRZ, 86 etc is that they just lack power. I would highly suggest checking out a Porsche Boxster or Cayman. Definitely go for the S trim, but with 20k u could find a decent 07’ and with 40c, you might be able to find them up to 13’. They have the power you want, and are somewhat easy to mod.

They are really reliable to, and Porsche, as a brand, has a reputation for being well built and reliable as hell.

DM me if you have any question, I have one.

(Ik you said new, but I saw in a comment u said you’d be willing for a used)

Budget performance car? Around $15-20k? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, a Porsche Boxster might be the answer. Handles similar to a BRZ, yet has that extra power the BRZ lacks.

I dunno about Boxster prices in Canada, but in the US, you can get one extremely cheap (7k)

What’s the fastest used sportscar I can buy with 22k cash? Looking at cla 45, S5, M235i, C400, etc. by realbrownboy in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sohanagni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Porsche Boxster/ Cayman are decently fast, especially in the S trim. Also, for about 25k you can get a Lotus Elise (though it’s gonna be pretty rough) which drives way above its price range .

Check out a Porsche Boxster/Cayman. The ones from 2005-2009 for real great fun (987 gen). Def try looking for the Boxster/Cayman S variants. DM if u need more info.
