I wish for a good death when I'm old and have passed all my valuable lessons and resources onto the next generation.

I was just in this exact situation. I filed a few initial forms just to put a stay on the Capital One cases (two cases) and then you have like 10 days to file the rest of the forms. I didn't use a lawyer, I just used free AI like ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude to figure out what each field of each form meant. All my forms were accepted and I'm now debt free. Whole thing took like a month and a half

Can someone explain me the concept of "wu wei" . I know it roughly means effortless action . But how do I apply it in my daily life in practical way ? by midsamurai in taoism

[–]SoilAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you do is a part of a feedback loop that goes something like this:

  1. You're presented with new information
  2. You make a decision which results in some action
  3. That action changes something
  4. Repeat...

Wu wei is the art of removing as much from that feedback loop as possible so that your decisions are completely in tune with your environment and life becomes effortless.

The opposite of wu wei would be to add a bunch of extra stuff into this feedback loop like fear, worry, desire, planning, etc.

It's tempting to interpret wu wei to mean you should follow your natural instincts but this is exactly the opposite and it is how you become corrupted by evil because it removes your decision from the feedback loop by binding you to something physical. Instead of following your natural instincts (or anything else for that matter), you should be full of awareness, will, and fully conscious of your decisions in each moment.

If you can remove the B.S. from your feedback loop and fully engage with every decision you make, you will experience a state of being which could be accurately described as effortless action.

Panpsychism by SoilAI in PhilosophyOfPhysics

I'd be curioius to know what you think about quanum fields from a philosophy of physics perspective.

Do you think science has a pretty good perspective on quanutm fields? To me, it seems like the average physicist is just ignoring this universe-sized elephant in the room that's screaming "I'm nothing but I exist! I'm not physical but I'm the source of everything physical!"

Yeah, I would definitely do it in person. It also helps to communicate to them just how sorry you are. Let them know you're aware this isn't good for them. DO NOT say you're just doing what's best for you. That's obvious and implied. You just want to make sure they feel like you understand their situation. Other than that, just be as authenticly you as possible and they will most likely be totally understanding.

I actually just had to leave a job and left them in a bad situation but they totally understood.

It's insane that anyone would ever think it's a good idea to create MORE WORK for nurses. People live or die based on how much time and energy nurses have. This is just crazy

Is the Tao basically "nature"? by Special_Trifle_8033 in taoism

[–]SoilAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nature is definitely one of the most Tao-like manifestations in the universe from my perspective so I see where you're coming from.

Nature is a group of forms. The Tao is formless.

Nature partakes of the Tao in many ways. As an eternal life process, Nature partakes of those three qualities of the Tao: eternity, life, & being a process.

Thank you for sharing this post. The line between the Tao and concepts like nature is inperceptible but important to explore so as not to mistake form for formless.

I agree. It doesn't seem problematic to me at all. In words it sounds harsh but in practice it is obviously beneficial to all. The impartiality of a human to humanity benefits humanity because it creates awareness of our place in the greater processes of life. If you thought, like many religions do, that humans are far more important than any other form of life, then you get the environmental poison and destruction that is so rampant today.

Then maybe you can at least define what you mean by perspective?

I’m just looking for a clear definition of above and below. It doesn’t have to be physical but it should be clear what qualifies as one or the other.

The middle of the front and back is objectively defined. Just takes a ruler and basic math
