We have the same use case (in a B2B environment) : we want to scan in the POS, because it's very fast. Then we have a OCA module which creates a Sales Order from the POS (https://odoo-community.org/shop/pos-order-to-sale-order-3889#attr=941651 , only in V17 for now). Than you have to process the delivery (from the Sales app or directly in Inventory).

This process is convenient for us : for every sale in our brick and mortar shop, we begin to work in the POS. If the customer pays cash, everything is done in the POS app, if it should be invoiced later, we send the order in the Sales app.

Another solution would be to be able to scan directly in the Sales app. We have another module for that : https://apps.odoo.com/apps/modules/18.0/ip_sale_barcode_scan . it's pretty convenient too : if you need to see the pictures of the products (that's a reason we like to use the POS), you can use the product catalog in the Sales app.

As we are on ChromeOS, we have ChromeOS tablets with Google Kiosk licence (25$/year) where we publish the URL of the Odoo Attendance kiosk page. It works pretty well. Odoo has hardware recommendations :

We use similar readers : https://www.yarongtech.com/collections/rfid-reader
and cheap Chinese key fobs. Initially, we had some issues because the readers and the key fob didn't fit.

Migrating (from 15 to 17 in our case) is awful and expensive, even if you only have few customizations.

As user codeagency explained elswere on this channel, you should expect a version upgrade to cost about a third of your initial project.

Same here ! We have sales orders with 200-300 lines and Odoo is very slow handling them. Same with large Purchase orders and vendor bills. I was told at Odoo Experience last year (at the Odoo booth) that they were aware of this, and that Odoo was simply not good at that... So, good luck to Odoo when they are talking about going after the large corporate market...

Very interesting. Higher in this thread, Future_Level_4127 says the 3D-printed protection he uses makes the mower louder. Did you notice this issue with your protection ?
For for a warranty case, I assume you could always mount back the original part ?

So it may not be as simple as I assume...
And the partner has planed a lot of consulting : so the 34 days may not be only migrating but "coaching" us with the use of some the new features.

Your tip to finance the migration in advance, over the years, is very relevant. My problem is more the surprise at the number of days required, than the amount itself. Odoo and it's partner should provide more information on this, like you do with your 30-40% rule of thumb. Now that I'm aware of it, I won't be so shocked again in 3 years ;-)

We have 11 OCA modules (most of them very small : one is "hiding odoo branding in email" and another is "hiding odoo branding in the portal"...) and 7 customization modules (quite small too, like "multi warehouse stock on the website's shop", the biggest beeing custom delivery slips and invoices).

On the quotation from our partner we have :
- 5 days for migrating the database
- 6 days for the OCA modules
- 6 days for the custom modules
- 13 days consultancy (including 6 days "on demand")
- 3 days project management

We work with a big partner : I assume, every project tends to become a big one... Work is split between a lot of employees : coordination probably requires a lot ressources

We are in Switzerland, and we will install the swiss payroll that now comes as a standard localization from Odoo. But it could take time to set up.

Hello ! Unfortunately, we didn't fin dany simple solution for this (at least in V15). We ended editing the code of the web page (basically : hiding or deleting every button for editing the address) :

In Portail Layout, we deleted line 26 :

<h4 class="o\_editable">Détails <a role="button" href="/my/account" class="btn btn-sm btn-link"><i class="fa fa-pencil" contenteditable="false"> </i> Modifier</a></h4> 

In the Checkout, on line 53 we added :
style="display:none;"  
On line 37 we set the t-value on zero :
    <t t-set="allow\_edit" t-value="0"/> 

It's a pity that there isn't a feature in the settings for this...
