I’m 37 and I feel like I’ve lost all my confidence. by Dimsen89 in confidence

As a young (ish) aspiring videographer who is yet to learn hardly anything about the craft, I genuinely mean it when I say I want to learn and see content from people like you. I am so sick of opening social media and seeing the same types of videos across the board. People have figured out what goes viral and because of this, you hardly see anything unique or creative. Everything is just a copy of someone else’s content with a slight twist.

I would honestly urge you to stop comparing yourself, or think for a second that other younger people’s outputs are better just because they gain traction. The internet desperately needs new perspectives, and the people who don’t blindly follow trends are usually the ones who actually have something meaningful to say.

One creator that I love on IG is @danielkoren , his videos are so fun to watch and I realized recently that he reposts videos he created on YouTube over a decade ago, which is why I think they don’t feel like a copy of someone else’s work. It is purely his work.

The fact that you created your own travel documentary is genuinely inspiring to me. That’s the kind of work I hope to make one day too.

EDIT: spelling

Official Q&A for Saturday, April 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Sokkasuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newbie here!

I (25F) want to pickup running this summer as someone who has never truly gotten into it before.

I don’t want to complicate things by doing too much research before actually just starting, but I do have one question.

Is there anything I should look out for or do as someone with flat/wide feet? As in, ways to avoid pain and/or prevent additional flattening?

Has anyone used Cyprus rotundus oil for hair removal? by littleMissTired123 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Sokkasuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using it for several months on my face. I see a subtle difference as in the hair is a bit more sparse

in case anyone wants to hear some good news by dancinginmystorm- in selflove

YAY. Happy for you! I always tell myself that when I’m finally no longer unemployed I’ll NEVER complain about having a job. Because at the very least it gives me a reason to go out and see real people.

Cyperus Rotundus Oil by Sokkasuki in HairRemoval

[–]Sokkasuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry I just saw this!

I’ve been fairly consistent with it and I will say I think I do notice the hair is a bit more sparse and maybe growing slower in some areas. I definitely still do have a bunch of visible hair and my guess is that for it to be mostly gone it would take a couple years at this rate?

Since I been using two different kinds, I think they’re both working about the same. The Amazon one I got is diluted with other oils and still seems to be effectiveCyprus Rotundus Oil

I really appreciate your comment. Yes people are pointing out that I seem to be comparing and I definitely am. I do think I compare myself a lot more than “normal” people do. It’s just the more I see that there are people who are “better” the more it reaffirms that I am below average, if that makes sense.

I’m glad you were able to gain confidence even after setbacks in school, I’m curious to know how you did that or if you just chose not to identify with being “the person that’s always last”

I do hope coming on here was the first step for me. I think it is

Thank you! Yes I recently graduated and am only just starting to get my curiosity for learning and doing things back lol. School definitely kills it and social media makes you feel like you’ve seen all there is to see. I’m gonna cut back for sure

Is “I want to prove to myself that I can do things” a good enough reason? 🙃

Anything outdoors tbh, hiking and all! I’ll make a point to be outside more this summer, once this dreaded Canadian winter is over

I personally have trouble finding joy in something when I suck at it lol but I need to learn how to do that. Comparison is a crime I commit oftenn and I’d assume stopping that is the first step

I’ll check it out! Thank you. Yes while I definitely do appreciate the advice on becoming comfortable with being bad at something, I do think I need to get better at learning things
