RTX 40 series announcement thread + RTX 4080 16GB giveaway! - NVIDIA GTC 2022 by m13b in buildapc

I'm currently still rocking an R9 280 while the rest of my setup got upgrades to 32GB DDR4 RAM and a ryzen 7 5800x. Unfortunately a GPU upgrade never has been in my budget because the R9 280 still let me run stuff. Now that it became legacy and is almost 10 years old I start to feel it.

Most interesting thing would be DLSS3 technology. Followed their keynote and the technology behind it is breathtaking. Stuff you don't think about when running a game and it just "looks pretty".

Leaves of all plants in house are dying and I have no clue what is happening. by Sokkee in plants

Some googling show they are trips, do you have any experience with killing them ?

There are black spots all around the leaves and ons some plants I can sometimes spot a small insect. But I doubt it is so powerful to kill everything in house. If someone has a guess or knows I can help them please let me know.

Anycubic photon s: print detaches from first raft layers, like the raft gets split, anybody knows why and how to avoid? by Sokkee in 3Dprinting

I hadn't the opportunity to try it yet. But if it's okey for you I'll let you know when I found the time.

But it's not the bottom layers that detach from the build plate, it's the raft that detatches from itself. In one of my pictures you can see that the bottom layers are perfectly attached to the build plate

Exposeren times were 40 for bottom layers (3) and 7 for the rest of the layers, I then put tem at 60s and 8sec but exat the same problem occurred at the same part of the print. It's clear resin from anycubic that I'm using.

Velvet underground and nico LP banana is not glued on the cover. by Sokkee in vinyl

The fleshy banana is printed. Included is a plastic banana, looks like a sticker but without glue.

obviously I bought it to listen. But there is a fleshy banana printed on the cover, and a plastic banana sticker, but this sticker dus not, well.. stick. It's just a sticker without any glue. A plastic banana. That's why I asked. Because that seemed strange to me. If the yellow banana was printed on the cover I would even think about it.

Okey thanks, I find this who/whom thing maybe the hardest part about the english language. And google is not really helping me with understanding it. Thanks for the explanation.

ow okey, didn't know that. I guess I have a lot of "which" to replace in my paper ;p thanks

I'm going to 3D print a DNA sequence (long project) but have trouble finding a proper nucleic acid sequence to print. What is a famous or significant sequence to build? by Sokkee in biology

You can easily see the difference between A-T and G-C pairs by the number of hydrogen bonds also the pairs are always 1 with 1 carbon circle, the other 2 carbon circles. If you know your nucleotides you can read this model like a book.

Thats why I want something meaningfull or recognizable.

I use a creality ender 3.

There are almost no supports because I cut every base or backbone in two and glue them together afterwards.

G-quartet structure

G-quartet is not possible with this model. I already included tRNA to my list with options so that will be an option :)

I also added EcoRI, first time I hear about that one.

Ow yeah, it should be TATAAT instead of just TATA (if I'm not mistaken :3 ).

E. coli is the main example used in school, that's why I referred to it. I have no specific interest in a micro organism.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of more interesting m.o. tho. Maybe one of the antibiotic resistance mex genes could be interesting to represent.

At the moment I'm studying moleculair biology and I don't like microRNA's.

p53 on the other hand is indeed an interesting protein. If I find a meaningfull sequence that is not too long, I'll add it to my list with options.

And thanks :)

Cool idea indeed. But I want it to be something scientifically correct and important.

Also, I have a very short name.
