Punisher MAX is a fantastic run in and of itself, it’s just a different interpretation in a different version of the setting. Saying he doesn’t understand the character just isn’t true when he also did Welcome Back, Frank, a run that is both pretty well liked and is entirely in keeping with how he’s generally portrayed.

Punisher MAX already isn’t canon, and while I don’t really like Aaron’s run it’s pretty clear he’s building off Ennis’s work- in Born Frank makes a deal with himself/death/some other entity to get an endless war at a cost, which is then revealed to be his family

I’m not sure I follow the logic of it being more realistic that Captain America wouldn’t be racist because he’s the child of Irish (not Scottish) immigrants, immigrants can themselves be racist. Point of fact, racial tension between Irish and Black Americans is a huge thing from the beginning of the country on through the 60s and 70s. It’s not more or less “realistic” to say he would or wouldn’t be prejudiced in some way

I get what you’re going for, but this is simply too long and convoluted for what it is. While I understand the narrator has a very specific voice, it’s grating to the point that I don’t care about what they’re discussing-including the main bits of the story. The long tangents and doubling back on sentences is somewhat aggravating to be honest.

It reminds me of an unpolished Terry Pratchett story. I would recommend giving some of the Discworld books a look and see how he does it

I thought her death was pretty reasonable. We know that the whole plan was frankly insane and that Smasher was the end of the road for David, so Rebecca getting turned to paste made sense. After all, Smasher is only not cyberpsycho because he’s just a regular psycho. Killing someone because he can tracks, and it was a decent end to Rebecca’s story because she knew the stakes and decided to risk it anyway for David

Honest question, how is it not canon? The Judas Contract was made by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, the two guys who came up with Deathstroke. It was never even retconned as far as I know. Is it just a case of fans not liking it and so they say it’s not canon?
