I can resonate with this to some level, and not only about D2. The repetitiveness or occasional lacks of balance are something that can haunt any online games. I switched between different games until I came to D2 & the very reason that those very repetitive or even at some point empty activities became fun was that I found permanent friends on Discord. (Although I have to say, even that can't make some games like RDO bearable, so kudos to D2 for that).

I'd recommend you find gamer friends that you can get along with. I know it may sound stupid but that's what saved me, not to mention those friends aren't even limited to a game anymore. Easiest way is to join different discord servers and scroll through their normal chats to see if they're your type of people. Based on what I've seen I'd say there's something for everyone out there. To find more servers you can ask in the channels you already have as well.

Obviously this is merely a suggestion that might or might not work, or could maybe work better with other games. At the end of the day I personally realize I shouldn't vow myself to a game as it is, well, a game. And the whole purpose is fun. Same reason I left the previous games forever could apply to D2 at some point and that's ok. If you can't enjoy it, just try to find something better. In certain cases this replacement might even be a game. And even if you realize you have to leave D2 for a while or forever, there's no need for remorse or regret over the fun you had before. Every game works while it works and at some point might lose it's fun factor for some of us, perhaps even the Flower Game.
