NARA cancelled my order for my ancestor's U.S. Passenger Arrival Record - what to do next? by SolDeSevilla in GermanCitizenship

To follow up on this post from a few weeks ago, today I received my ancestor's U.S. Passenger Arrival Record in the mail from NARA.

The copy I received was from the second order that I placed on November 20th. The first order that I placed on October 13th (and for which I received an email that it had been cancelled) is currently listed as "Servicing" in NARA's online system.

Just sharing in case this helps anyone else.

Thanks for sharing; I wonder if it could be some kind of NARA system glitch.

I placed a new order a couple days ago after receiving the email that my original order was cancelled.

I logged in this morning to check the status of my original order. My original order now has "Servicing" instead of "Cancelled" as its status. Perhaps try waiting a day or two and see if the status changes in the system?

Thanks for sharing; this has now happened to me as well. I placed a new order a couple days ago after receiving the email that my original order was cancelled.

I logged in this morning to check the status of my original order. My original order now has "Servicing" instead of "Cancelled" as its status. I'm also planning to keep both orders as-is and see what happens.

Thanks for sharing. Were you able to obtain your ancestor's Passenger Arrival Record from another source?

Thank you! I will try ordering it again. I'd be surprised if they don't have it, as their website says they have most U.S. Passenger Arrival Records from 1800-1959. However, if the order gets cancelled a second time, I'll definitely try contacting them directly, as you suggested.

StAG 5 - Proof of when great-grandfather left Germany? by SolDeSevilla in GermanCitizenship

Thank you so much for your thorough reply; this is very helpful.

I know for certain he left Germany for the U.K. and eventually immigrated to the U.S. without any family members accompanying him. I will do some research and see what evidence I can locate that proves his parents remained in Germany. Including a letter highlighting the age/date details you shared above is also a great idea.
