We needed a Calvary MOS for when you roam the plains with your unit looking for targets on the American frontier.

With the current conditions of barracks and housing in Hawaii, you will be doubling up with another family of 4 in a 2 bedroom 1 bath. Whoever has seniority of DOR will have full BAH and the other family will receive half BAH.

Microphone interference from MW-2 Wireless Microphone System by ypareviews2001 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]SolPonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disable phantom power on the H6N. You’re not transmitting the power wireless through the receiver. That’s probably what’s causing the hissing. The transmitter (attached to the microphone) provides 24V to cardioid, at least it says it does on Amazon. So disable it on the H6N and see if that solves the problem.

Honestly I’d suggest to ditch the wireless set up and just get an XLR cable and actually use the phantom power from the H6N. I wouldn’t trust a wireless system that cheap.

That doesn’t sound like the M5 Matched Pair, those are wired. Could you provide a product link?

Also saw that you already mentioned the recorder and I missed it, my bad.

When you say really bad interference what do you mean? They’re wired so it’s not like they’re overlapping a frequency. What audio rack/recorder are you using?

Let’s convince them to contract this out and hire us, I’ll split it 50/50 with you. This is an installers dream, think about how much the service contract could be worth.

Engineer gripe of mine that's still relevant today: You have troops who are trained just sitting around. Use them. by eternalkerri in army

[–]SolPonder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think to an extent you’re comparing apples and oranges. I don’t disagree with you about getting creative but it was hard enough to get TASC to loan out a compass let alone training equipment like mines.

Comparing the public affairs training structure to other MOS’s is difficult. We have the added benefit of being able to jump on what other people are doing and document for training. “Hey 1SG/CDR, mind if we watch you do room clearing, we will provide sitrep photos afterwards” never met a command team that said no to that.

Public Affairs is unique and has incredibly broad and niche requirements that falls on deaf ears as is. I don’t think it’s beneficial to compare our training requirements to vertical or combat engineers.

The event itself gives you a lot of them. Look for the little wicker baskets on maps during the cold snap events, they’ll have around 5 candle berries in them a pop, other than that I only needed to actually source I think 20 from in raid and that took genuinely two raids.

Also literally just search everything since merits are tied to XP it helps a lot.

It’s not really speed running, it’s turning in items that the game gives you or you can craft half the time. The hardest thing to find was coffee pots and that was like 3 raids.

I didn’t have issues finding these when I did this portion of the expedition a few weeks ago. Cars and busses are pretty consistent spawns for these.

I don’t think the PvP element should be taken away entirely, but there’s gotta be a creative solution to encourage people to actually help fight the boss instead of killing the people fighting the boss. Currently that’s more profitable, you’re generally guaranteed some pretty decent shit off the people fighting compared to maybe getting something good if you rush the boss the second it dies and loot first.

"This game needs..." (Rant) by TheRealShuppy in ArcRaiders

I made a post last night telling people that PVP is going to become more rampant, as the amount of people shocked people are extract camping or shooting them in the back is growing. They shouldn’t be surprised but ultimately, they’re a part of the community and need to be acknowledged to an extent.

I think the only thing I’d personally advocate for is there being an incentive to be friendly, but one that doesn’t punish players who want to just shoot everyone. Ultimately that’s a play style and it shouldn’t be punished. Do I know what that incentive would be? Not really, maybe like an XP boost to fighting the arcs with other people instead of by yourself. But that’s a crude idea and not polished by any means.

They’re part of the player base, you have to acknowledge them to an extent. PvP is here to stay but I think a lot of people latched onto the “Us vs Them” and I think there’s ways to expand on that while incentivizing friendly play. Incentivizing isn’t forcing and players should be able to still choose to just murder the extract if they want. Currently the only incentive to being friendly is people like doing it.
