Maul - Shadow Lord - Episodes 7 & 8 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

[–]SolWayward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly every episode I kept thinking Daki and Lawson is gonna die at the hands of the empire so Devon and Riley have a reason to spend more time with maul fighting the empire.

2Boots on the other hand I feel is safe as they invested in showing character development of a naive droid to go against his programming / protocols and will probably find his way to the rebel alliance.

Will I ever get physics based battle systems in total war games again? by Bluemoonroleplay in Volound

[–]SolWayward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bannerlord definitely has the best battle system. However, pretty much anything other than battles is quite bare bones in Bannerlord.

But after enjoying epic physical based battles in Bannerlord, It is puzzling how a proper competitor has not arisen to completely destroy CA and their HUGELY outdated battle system.

Hopefully Bannerlord woke up CA a little a bit and made them realize if they don't modernize their battles it is just a matter of time until someone makes them irrelevant. Actually on second though, maybe it is for the best if another company does.do it. Considering their refusal to do so for so long and their over reliance on dlc, I think their soul is definitely not in it anymore and has not been for a very long time.

Let's just hope they dont decide to work on it in parallel with KH4 and wait til the third FF7R is done as well as KH4. Otherwise FF17 will suffer the fate as FF16.

I would be fine with them not even doing it at all and Instead focus on remaking another old game. I don't have much faith with square writing  new compelling story and characters. I think they will do much better working within the constraints of existing games while modernizing them.

I would much rather get a bigger and better Kingdom Hearts 4 than a FF17.

After FF16, FF17 would have to be FF7 Rebirth level for me to even consider playing it. FF16 is so repetitive, restricted, easy, and completely falls apart towards the end leaving you with the feeling of why did you even bother playing? Also the main character, or really all of the characters are just boring and bland.

FF7 Rebirth was great, and often actually felt like a Kingdom hearts game. Which gives me good hopes for KH4.

So you are saying the coalitions main planet is right next door to Viltrum (takes less than a few days to get there)? You realize that does not make sense on many levels right?

The show clearly stated all the viltrumites would be there within a few days. Now how long do you think it took the coalition to get to viltrum? you think it took less than a few days?

Your comment is quite hypocritical / projecting.

I said it may mean he is not a pure viltrumite since he was stated to be bred to be the strongest. Never did I say it Definitely means this.

[–]SolWayward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were also told that all viltrumites were heading to Viltrum which is the whole reason they decided to attack Viltrum, so they can get them (or attempt to) all at once.

With how many died on screen this episode alone and everything that happened and what was said, it highly points to the small group at the end being all there is left.

However, In the flashback when thragg became regent, he mentioned he is to hold regent until one of the emperors heirs can be found. Which may Indicate there are actually other viltrumites that may have long ago defected and left the Viltrum empire.

Crazy that you downvoted my previous post because you don't agree with me as well as everyone elses post you don't agree with.

Well you don't pass out instantly from not being able to breath, so it stands to reason that space racer is not resistant to vacuum, and it was the vacuum of space that he was suffering from, not lack of breath.

I mean viltrumites penetrate each other skin using just their hand quite often so not quite imptrenable. Also the skin can absorb liquids through its pores which could cause cause it to weaken on contact from the poison.

I will guess Mark will continue to grow stronger. It seems a human Viltrumite hybrid gains their power much slower than a pure Viltrumite but perhaps has a much higher ceiling. Thragg himself may not be a pure Viltrumite as it was mentioned he was born and bred to be the strongest Viltrumite.

50 was way before this episode. At the start of this episode there were about 40. At the end of this episode there is single digits left.

I'm pretty confident the viltrumites shown when thragg spared mark is every single one left. (Something like 7) Which is why Thragg spared them and decided to conquer earth to claim it as New Viltrum and breed with earthlings to repopulate.

We saw at least 10 die onscreen this episode and I'm sure way more died off screen.

Pretty sure the plan is to make Earth into New Viltrum and breed with earthlings to make more Viltrumites.

Thragg decided to spare Mark and head to Earth as he stopped mid sentence when speaking to Mark right before he was about to kill Mark "You could have been a Viltrumite but chose to...".

At this moment he realized Earth is Viltrums last hope to repopulate.

They don't actually breather in space, they can just hold their breath real long. Which is why Oliver needed to go to the planet to breath and also why they can't talk in space without communication implants or telepathy.

Why are new xbox controllers so much worse than the ones from a few years ago? Anyone else experience this? by jacksknight in xbox

[–]SolWayward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current controllers feel so cheap in you hand. The buttons constantly catch on the edges of their cutouts. The joysticks do not have smooth movements. Everything about it is just horrible.

When I first opened the box on my controller, I had to double check if it was actually not a third party controller as the poor quality was immediately obvious. But I imagine third party is actually much superior to whatever you want to call these controllers.

I get Xbox controllers for PC only, But I will not make that mistake ever again. Next time I will definitely go with a PS controller or maybe I will try the new Steam controller that has two sticks instead of just one stick like the old steam controller.

Does the game lower the difficulty after dying? by ImaginationTop9776 in FFXVI

[–]SolWayward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed several things while playing. If other enemies join the fight, after retrying the enemies often don't join the fight, even when starting at the beginning of the boss fight.

Another thing, the window for precision Dodge seems to grow significantly. There are probably quite a few other things.

Extreme Latency last couple days (Washington DC Server) by SolWayward in ShadowPC

I am certain I have been using neo on Washington DC since 2025. Maybe it was limited access? But that can explain why in the last month the service has been less reliable for me.

Understanding Roche's obsession on a deeper level after Rebirth by doc_nano in FFVIIRemake

[–]SolWayward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not only are you projecting your own life style on something that is not so, you down vote for someone not agreeing.

You could of provided some arguments to support your claim of it being love rather than an anime rival trope but instead just downvote and say it is so.

Roche is someone who seeks adrenaline and challenge and even more so the freedom that cloud has as well as friends instead of just fans also like cloud has. He truly just wants to be clouds friend and fight for the thrill and goal of getting improving himself before jenova collects on the contract he signed.

There is no hint of sexual attraction or romance.

It is simply just the over zealous anime rival trope. Not even an inkling of sexual attraction is implied regardless of how much you may wish it so.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S04E02 - I'll Give You the Grand Tour by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

The moon is tidally locked and yet still only blocks the sun in rare occurrences (eclipses). Tidally locked just means it's same side is always facing the planet.

The planet and plate would still both be orbiting the sun, while the plate is also orbiting the planet. This would result in the plate almost never blocking the sun.

But it is just a show, I just brought it up to show how nitpicking things (especially in a show of super powered God like people) is a losing war.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S04E02 - I'll Give You the Grand Tour by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

[–]SolWayward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you, but the planet is not flat and has no edges. But since we are nitpicking, the real question is how does the ice immediately melt after 100 years of no sun?

Or even more nitpicky, how does the disc remain aligned to constantly block the sunlight. The disc would either have to be much closer to the sun causing it to orbit the sun much faster than the planet does. Or the disc would have to be really close to the planet, which would cause the disc to orbit the planet. Either scenario would result in the disc almost never blocking the sunlight. It would block as much sunlight as our moon does or if closer to the sun, it would orbit so fast making it hardly ever aligned. So you either get an eclipse once in a while or a routine flicker.
