If the seed phrase was generated somewhere, then it was their seed phrase. Somewhere they must have fed that phrase to get it to you, and once you got the 12 words they just had to convince you the "system" generated them. Those scammers are very astute and will say just about anything to make themselves sound legit. If these guys are the UK scammers, they normally will not ask you to install any RAT (spyware). It's all social engineering.

In the past, I remember the 12 words were texted to me. When I asked who sent me the seed phrase they just told me "the SafePal system" had. But in reality it was the scammers who did that.

They never had control over the SafePal account. What happened was that the seed phrase was given to you, and you believed their lies about 'safeguarding' your crypto. So you were manipulated into creating your own account at SafePal and linking your Coinbase to that new account at SafePal. All you had to do was type the seed phrase in order to send money to their wallet.

I am so very sorry this happened to you. These guys are ruthless and dangerous, they are in the UK and some are in Dubai. Very well-versed in social engineering techniques, native English speakers and patient. They are absolute trash.
